I received this e mail this morning from Carol; Barry's wife...I assume she doesn't mind my posting it....
"I am pleased to say that Barry is on the mend. He is still in hospital........the focus now is on getting his blood-thinners back to their previous level. The staples and sutures are still holding things in place..........no word as to when they will start to be removed.
He's had a rough week..........partly due to medications and partly to lack of good quality rest. He was finally moved from a ward to a semiprivate room on Thursday, so not so many disturbances through the night.
Thank you for your good wishes which I passed on to Barry. I'm sure he will be in touch once he is able to access communication equipment again."

Thanks for the update Jackie...this is truly good news, it seems the chance of severe infection has passed and now just the healing process is left...Way to go Bear! -- Vic

Poor guy,
Bear hope you get better soon, like Vic said at least the possibililty of infection mabey is gone,
We sure do miss our " ( Bear Hugz") Heal well and feel better soon Bear.

Good news Jackie. Poor Bear. The med adjustments and lack of sleep don't make for good healing.

I just want to say again that I have Barry and Carol in my thoughts and prayers. Glad he was moved. It is so sad that the quality of care is so often lacking. Experienced that personally. You almost have to have an 'around the clock' relative with you.  |

Sorry Barry and Carol, just reading about all this...Pat and I are sending our warmest thoughts and prayers your way. Having seen the hospital too many times myself lately, I can only imagine what it would be like to have to stay there...my heart goes out to you Barry. Get well soon and Carol, you get some rest; we always forget how hard it is on those that love us. By the way Barry, you were not designed to fly...maybe in another life...from now on, keep your feet firmly planted on the earth!  |
