I just got off the phone from talking with Ellen; she was having a cup of tea and MUCH clearer than the other day. Plus she's been getting her breather meds which helps.
She said she's had a LOT of tests etc....
No surgery yet.... maybe today at 5 pm. If no surgery today (she's hoping not tomorrow) then her family plans on bringging Christmas dinner in for her.
They're having to take care of the Emergency Surgeries first and I guess there's been a lot. She said whrn they took her down to x-ray the other day that it was PACKED with folks.
She was saying she REALLY appreciated the e mails she's been getting delivered to her. It means a lot!
After the surgery she's hoping to have Harry bring in her laptop so that she can log on and check in etc.
Ellen figures there's a reason for e'thing; including this accident... I told her maybe it was becasue she needed to slow down a bit! Anyway; she said she'd get through this; "just becasue you have COPD doesn't mean a person can't do things" and she figures it's like one more knotch in her belt! .......what an attitude!
The other thing which I thought was really good and helped me realize her current clarity.... (apart from the fact that they're treating her really well) was that she told them of what we do at COPD Canada Patient Network. They thought it was wonderful so she's gonna have Harry bring in some of our pamphlets....then she told me the Membership info and e'thing is right up to date. I didn't even ask her about it but she felt it was important to tell me . Bless her heart
(Ellen looks after the Network's membership for those of you who may not be aware)
O.K. guys....now you know what I know...... at least for now.
Love you gal..... I'm looking forward to when you're home and all this is behind you and Harry!

Thanks for keeping us all informed Jackie.
You mentioned the interest in the network, I spoke to two respiratory nurses at the doctors this week, explained about forums and my interest here, how we teach and learn from each other. I emphasized it was not complicated doctor stuff but knowledge a patient needed every day, how it is often easier to learn from a non expert. I hope I corrected some misinformation they had.
