. Update:
We "finally" received the call and my wife is schedule for surgery tomorrow (Friday April 17) morning - at 9:30ish AM. Prep time will start at 6:00 AM. If all goes as planned (re: Plan A with simple 1/2 thyroid removal), my wife will be ready to come home at 7:00ish PM. Yes. 12 hours of in, surgery and out - if all goes as planned. It still amazes me that such an surgery can be completed within 12 hours. re: No over night - unless complications set in.
Do keep your fingers crossed (and many prayers) coming our way.... We need all the support we can get.
Many thanks.

Update:
My wife is out of surgery. A nurse explained that things went great (as expected).
I plan to pick my wife up at 4:00ish – in another 2.5 hours. Gotta get my kids off the bus and “settled in” first – before picking up my wife from Recovery room.
Was already told our next “24-48 hours aftwards” are the final “wait and see” time period. Hopefully, no complications during this recovery period either.
Many thanks for everyone's prayers (and continued prayers for her recovery time period).
Much appreciated.

. Update:
Being day 4 (after surgery), here's a little status update. Each day, my wife's surgery recovery phase is getting better and better. She cannot drive (as of yet) because her neck is still too sore. She cannot turn her head to check blind spots or efficiently look both directions at a stop sign. Thus, I've been driving her around. My wife cannot bend over very well either. It hurts her lower neck way too much. She can sweep the floor but she cannot use the dust pan - to pick up the pile either. Each day, my wife is getting better and better. Hopefully, her health will be back to 110% in the next 20-30 days. Only time will tell....
Again... Thanks for your many prayers and positive thoughts.

You've and your wife have come a long way Spike .... Well done. You started this thread not sure if she was coming back and now your biggest worry is her ability to see 'blind spots'. Now if she never regains ability to see your 'blind spots' ya got it made. A sincere best wishes to both of you.

. Update: My wife's test results are “finally” in..... Quick feedback: benign (NO Cancer). For more details, surf: www.thyroid-info.com/articles/nodulesgoiter.htmDuring this experience, my wife’s status went from Inconclusive to Suspicious (emergency surgery to remove ½ her thyroid – due to multiple lumps) to Benign. As you can image, my wife is smiling. Been smiling since the phone call came in this afternoon… Many thanks for your support. Another “experience” we can add to our family photos and “life’s lessons”… .

Glad it was clean, great news, took them a while, that's got to be hard waiting. Having been through the same thing I know how hard it is, one major difference, I knew there was no cancer before I left the hospital which I am very grateful for.

:)Spike It is so wonderful to hear your wife is okay!
You are such a caring and loving husband and father, and she must be very special too. Even though it seemed like forever, the end results were worth it. So go enjoy and rest, and remember you have a lot of people here behind you, and your wonderful family!! ( hugs) Linndie
