Well it has been awhile since I last posted. Not much has changed here...we continue with our exercise program three days aweek. Time is starting to get a bit long...this is the time of year when I would be planning the spring projects and garden and instead I am worried about finding someone to cut the grass while we are away. There have been 20 transplants this year so far, but none the last few weeks so we are all still in the waiting mode. We had our clinic today and met with one of the doctors, it seems that there is a bacteria that is growing in hubby's lungs which may change his status from a single lung to a double lung transplant. They won't treat this particular type of bacteria at this point but they don't want to put a new lung next to one that has this bacteria. I wish you all well and I will update as we travel along...

Kathy; why won't they treat the bacteria in the lung?

Kathy, I'm sorry that there's a bacteria to deal with. Depending on what it is, it may be one that is resistant to antibiotics and that could be why they choose not to treat it. The good news is that people seem to do better with a double lung transplant than single as far as rejection and they don't want to do a single for fear the it will infect his new lung. I know this must be hard on you being so far from home, I pray that things go in his favor and he is called soon. I see how my husband is with waiting on mine so I can sympathize with you. I am sure everything I have just said is stuff you already know, just want you to know that your not alone,I am praying that they call you soon! I can only imagine how home sick you are.
