Wildoats (Brian) posted this in the Over the Fence this morning..... "Melissa, our daughter with MS,has lost 34 lbs in the last six weeks. They (the people at the nursing home she's in) were going to implant a feeing tube. We talked it over and decided to set Mel free. There is to be no tube and we signed a DNR order. Hope I never have to face anything half so hard or painful again".Brian; I am soooooo very, very sorry. My heart and prayers goes out to Melissa and your family.... I can only imagine how difficult this is for you.....

im very sry for what you & your family are going thro...my prayers are with you all. i found this poem and thought i would share it...
There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than 10,000 tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love.
- Washington Irving
May the angels watch over melissa and may you all find comfort in your time of sorrow. tc and god bless
~Dawn~

'When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set me free, I want no nights in a gloom filled room, why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long, and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love we once shared, miss me...... but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take, and each of us takes alone. It's all part of the masters plan, a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends and family we know and bury your saddness in doing good deeds....... Miss me but let me go
Love Linndie

Brain, I really have no words and I know the pain you are feeling. I see it in my mother's eyes each time she looks at me since I had to go on oxygen. My thoughts and prayers are with you....take heart in knowing that you did what she would have wanted. As Linndie said so very well....'a soul set free'
Hope my family has the strength and love you've shown to your daughter when my time comes.
