In the U.S. many of the larger pharma companies (the sames ones we generally have here in Canada) have an assistance program for people who cannot afford to purchase meds at regular price. Granted, most of the provinces have a drug program for seniors or others on disability etc) but what is there for people who fall between the cracks. I.E. The ones that earn enough money that they don't qualify for govt. assistance but don't make enough to purchase our much needed breathing meds.
Does anyone know if the pharam co's have any programs?
(BTW; yes I'm aware of ADC and use same for some meds).
Anyone?

Jackie,
If you receive any answers regarding this, could you please send the info my way? We just found out that my husband lost his job yesterday (yes, the saga continues!) and the benefits will only last a month or 2. By the way, what is ADC?
Thanks,
Mary

Mary; ADC stands for All Day Chemist; they're very reputable and I've yet to hear a complaint about the quality. Many people have been using them over the years for their meds; including COPDer's here in Canada. Myself included; well; for hubby's meds (BP and cholesterol) though this last order I ordered one of mine as well. The savings are quite substantial. I'm not making a recommendation; it's a personal; choice, but I am alerting you to an alternative. Go here; check near the bottom of the page www.copdcanada.ca/med_names_equiv.htm One thing; the med names and dosages are different (keep it in mind) If you have any q's e me or even ask here. I know of a few pople here who order through them. Good Luck; Jackie

Jackie, Here in the U. S. the big name companies have a plan. But, You have to call them yourself. And appling. It is usually for a 90 supply but then they will extend it most time. What you do is find the name of the maker of your meds and most have 800 numbers and call them during the week. I don't know about Canada but in MHO it would most likely be the same. I hope this helps. Mary sorry about your husband loosing his job. Jacking you will find some spam in Caregivers, April 8, and jokes Bear and I tried to just post something to get it off the front page. I know not the right way to deal with it. But seemed to be all we could do .
