Bobbie Thanks so much for sharing with everyone. I think there will be at least a seven day period of concern. Any flu would be something I would have a problem dealing with and sure Jackie would too.
Jackie and Dave, you are in my thoughts and prayers and hope all comes back not the flu.

You're right about that John; never a dull moment.
First off...TYVVM Bobbi. You jumped right in and it's sooooo appreciated! I wanted to post, tried but couldn't. Bobbi posted all the correct info
To the rest of you.... TY and YES please keep those prayers/positive thoughts coming. I'd be lieing if I said I wasn't scared becasue I am. We ALL live with some element of fear on a daily basis; certain things can amplify it and with me just coming off another lung infection; plus my "history" shall we say; well, you get the idea. Last night it was the next thing to "Terror!"
Dave's been aching for a couple of days; night before last, he was hot and cold in bed; we chalked it up to overuse etc on the weekend due to that large fire we had plus his job is somewhat physical.
He's in contact with many people on a daily basis then over the weekend at least 100 differnt firefighters. Y'day he was aching even more then as the day progressed he started feeling not so good at all. By the time he got home and we finally took his temp it was 103. Alarm bells went off for him; me etc. He called the clinic....they had him come right in. Had me write down what anti I just finished and what my next round was to be.
I swear he went out the door so fast I was in shock! Like; what's going on kinda thing!
They put him in isolation as soon as he got there. He called me from there. They don't think it's the Swine flu (but ANY flu is dangerous for us) but they did swab him for testing. The results should be back Friday. And yes; we have had the regular flu shot.
On the way home he stopped and picked up another round of anti's not that it would really help but..... I always have some on hand anyway.
Mary's right.... the next 7 days will be tense for us; chances are I already got "it" whatever "it" is. Here's hoping.....

Prayers for Dave and you Jackie.
have you considered the anti virals that they prescribe like Tamiflu & Relenza, maybe have them on hand just in case. Good Luck, hope Dave is better soon and its just a cold.

Jackie Thanks for letting us know what is going on. My thoughts continue to go out to you both. Maybe if it is flu they will call you in something for it in case. And yes, here's hoping that you haven't contracted anything. I imagine you were terrified to say the least. I would be too.
Hope Dave gets better.

Unbelievable!!! Is there no end in sight? Jackie, both you and Dave are in my prayers and I sure hope you can avoid whatever it is...but hopefully, if you must get it, it's mild and Dave is recovered enough to help you along. Good luck and many prayers. -- Vic

Jackie, I am praying for you and Dave. Enough is enough. Time for you guys to be left alone to fish off your dock and enjoy your summer. The Gods that be need to just pass you by when it comes to sickness. Let them go pick on someone else for a change. I am holding my breath until you get the test results.
Rest, drink plenty of fluids and try not to worry. Yea, I know...easy to say. Hang in there kiddo. You have a lot of people pulling for you.

I want to thank you guys again for your kindness; it really does mean a lot to me/us.... I feel badly for Dave; I really do.... he's worried for us both. But you know..... I guess it's no different than what some of you expereience more frequently when you have kids/grandkids around.
I have a new "appreciation" for what you do..... and live with in that regard....
Love, Hugs, prayers to you.....

Just had to pop in and say a quick again to you Jackie and one Big sent to Dave. I feel so bad for Dave. I keep thinking of him being alone and sick. I worry for you that you don't get it. I hope your basement is a nice finished basement. It just sounds so cold. God Bless You both and you are so loved by so many.

Dave's feeling much better today.... no fever. Y'day he was fine in the afternoon, then it came back (fever) in the evening.
Mary; it's not quite as bad as it sounds. He's upstairs a great deal of the time (though he wears a mask) and he doesn't get too close or touch common things (as best he can) If he has to go to the bathroom; he goes downstaits; same thing for sleeping, napping etc. And yes; the downstairs is finished though it is a tad bit colder.
Hopefully we'll know something later today.....
TY all for your continued concern and well wishes.

And all this time I thought the big guy upstairs was mad at me. Thanks for sharing the load. Try the Vicks vapourrub on the soles of his feet and between his toes. It works with the prayers. Get well and stay better. That's an order.
