Ijust recieved an email from Larry's wife Marilyn saying that Larry was in rehab and that she hoped to bring him home next week Thank you Marilyn for the great news . AS always you & Larry are in my prayers

John; Thank You for posting about Larry. He's never very far from my, and our (here at the Board) thoughts and prayers. I hope he gets back to "normal things" especially his walking. Please remember e'one that it's the winter months in NZ and though snow isn't what they would normally get there, the weather can be cold and damp. All things are relative and as COPDer's we're affected by our climates and temperatures.

Here's hoping he's back home tout suite! (sp?)

this was posted in another forum Larry and I use.....It sounds like he is SLOWLY getting better....praying for a full recovery


I was hoping Larry would be home end of this last week but they say it will be next week now. He is improving slowly had a bit of a set back friday but yesterday back on track so we are concentrating on more good days this latest episode has certainly taken a toll. Wonderful to see the daffodils are starting to bloom & the first of the lambs are scamping about on the local farm so hooray for warmer weather. And a huge thank to all the Golden Gaters for the wonderful 'Get Well' card Larry received which really cheered him up and it is pinned up on a notice board beside his bed.

Thank you for caring and will keep you updated with progress I keep hoping to get him home so he can talk to you himself.

First I wish to thank everybody for their prayers and good wishes, I guess they worked because I am still here. Must admit a month in hospital has left me very flat, I am told to expect a slow recovery.
Not even sure what happened, it has not been a good year for me, one thing after another, this recent episode being the worst, I seem to get over a viral infection then got hit with tachycardia, my heart rate stayed high all the time, like running non stop on the spot, mostly now below 100 at rest, I have to take things easy which means doing very little.
They sent me home from hospital with a WALKER of all things, more for the seat it has on board, it means as long as I take it along I have a seat for rest, not that I can leave the house at the moment, poor Marilyn is doing a lot of work.
The picture is one of my Grandsons trying out the seat, mostly my back in the picture.

Other things were provided like a seat to fit our shower, at the moment I do not have the energy to stand for long.
I am now remembering little tips I have read in the past but not needed, like after a shower put on a toweling robe and most of the drying is done for you.
So I am home, catching up with those on the net and resting heaps.

What a handsome kid! And so nice to try the seat out for you. I like the color. Maybe you can get him to test drive the shower chair, too. . Now that you're home you can get some good old fashioned home cooking and better rest. You'll be your old self in no time.
