Thanks for that Jackie, I have been approached and declined. One is Tiotropium (spireva) with the respimat delivery, the other is Tiotropium plus oxis. The problem from my point of view is I have to stop Spireva and Symbicort, then risk getting a placebo. This happened to me once before, an early trial of respimat, I stopped the Symbicort as required then got a placebo, in one month I became rather low and had to withdraw. I recently had a house call from a nurse about that trial and try and recruit me for the new study, I explained the situation and they understood. I have been on two other trials since the the first disaster, but not one that requires my giving up Symbicort. There is a strong demand for people willing to be involved.

I'll tell you what Larry; if I had to give up the Symbicort I'd decline as well. I don't mind doing trials or studies but the giving up of meds in the process is a definite no no. The study I'm in right now isn't for meds but rather it's tracking disease progression and studying genes so there's no withholding or changing of them.

I was really shocked when I read this. To give someone a placebo who needs their meds. Well, I just don't know what to think about that. I certainly hope they were monitoring you very closely, Larry.
