I spoke with Wendy.... she sounded a bit tired. I had to chuckle a bit.... she was complaining (I think that's a good sign) Her throat was sore, her chest was sore, her lungs hurt, she was coughing etc etc. I told her not to be macho, if she needed something ask for it. You know..... Bring on the drugs! She assured me she had been. She'd also said they'd given her some lozengers for her throat which was helping. (Maybe they have a numbing agent in them?) I was mentioning to Dave that it's very possible that they're weaning her off some things a bit...... Anyway; the throat concerns me; she's not sure why it's sore. Incidentally the TTO is still in place and she cleans it out herself. She also mentioned they may take one of the tubes out (today - Saturday) though they'd clamp it shut first and try it before removing it. She's still wrestling for a walker, may have the girls pick one up for her (her own). Too many patients wanting to use one and not enough available. I told her to snag one and hide it in the bathroom! Also; Jeremy her son is laid up at home. He "blew his knee out" the day before and they had to put it back together. They did it on an outpatient basis I believe. Anyway; she was feeling bad that she couldn't be home with him. She said to say and sends her love and she's thinking of us! Back atcha Zoom! Each day is one more day behind you and you get closer to the plus side and being released. Just keep it up!

These updates mean everything, Jackie. Thank you so much for helping us keep tabs on Wendy. And thanks to Wendy for talking when she probably would rather not. (sore throat and all the rest). I guess if she's complaining she's on the right path. With her lungs and chest hurting it must be hard for her to take deep breaths, which I'm sure they want her to do.
Good luck with the tube removal, Wendy. I hope it goes smoothly. I'll be thinking about you! Sue

This is great news. I have always considred complaning to be a good sign when someone has been operated on or sick, . Yep, I always see the walkers in the bathrooms, and wondered why! Now I know. Keep up the speedy recovery Wendy.

I'll bet that coffee smelled heavenly! Hope it works the next try getting rid of the tubes. I've heard from others that it's all "cake" after they're gone.

I read on Charmines (Wendys daughter) facebook this morning, she said yesterday, they tried to clamp one of moms tubes, however it didn't work out , she is getting that crepitus and it hurts , so they need to wait till the swelling goes back down again. I think she is getting a cold now.She does very well one day and not the next.
