Well; I spoke with our friend today...... things are progressing and though not as quickly as we'd all like (especially for her) I did remind her of the "time frame" they had told her. She more than remembered and that it was still "within the timeframe they told me". Let's see. Heck I should (we all should be so lucky) Talk about room service at that hospital! Their ktichen's open "for order" till 8:30 p.m. They order what they want to eat. Huh? Le Menu for lunch? A Cheeseburger no less! Shhesh; at this rate she may not want to come home! All this service! On the more serious side of things.... the Subcataneous emphysema which I think she refers to as Krispy Kringles is back to a degree. In her chest and arm. It may have something to do with them clamping, before removing the the chest tubes. They tried it y'day and again this morning. Not. But; she did say they were being very careful with her which is a GOOD thing IMHO. She's still having pain though her throat isn't as sore and YES; she's still walking and plans on walking for World COPD Day. We had a chat about that... and getting folks to move....she's been planning on "doing the walk" since the summer. Virgina; your name came up (in a nice way) about doing it again this year too. And Bobbi; she asked about you. Her mom got in to see her this weekend.... and yes she watched some of the Football games that she could. The BIG thing of course is having her own coffee in her room! She mentioned it had snowed again and from the room she's in she can see. It's beautiful. Now you have it! She sends her love to all and she's thinking about us. When you get through this Zoom; I'm buying you a new magic wand!

Wendy you are in my thoughts. Things always seem to move slower than what we like just take care of that "A" personality and lay back and suck in the food and bask in whatever they will give you. When you get out of there then you will be doing for everyone else. I think of you often. Keep lookin' up!!!!

From Wendy
good grief! two weeks ago I had the surgery....wow the time really has gone by quickly....I still have both tubes in and in the morning we may get to pull one....may it today all day with it clamped....now they will keep it clamped and if the xray shows that it did well, in the morning they will pull it out and clamp the left side.......I do not want them to come out before they should, but to get out've this pain wouldd be so wonderful!!!!
kit is hard being so far from home but the end...

Wendy, you are a strong woman and many friends and loving family. If you get restless, just think ahead of some of the things you may soon be able to do now. Still praying for you and hope the one tube or maybe both are out tomorrow. You will be home soon.

Hi there, Wendy!
Sounds like you are going to be tube-free very shortly. Hurray for you!! I hope the xrays shows it's time to get rid of the first one. Good to hear from you yourself. You're right, 2 weeks do fly. I'm sure one day turned into the next before you knew it in the beginning. Now you must be anxious to be done with the place. Keep it up, you are doing great!
Sue

Linda, thank you for that update.
I was so happy to read that the tubes were coming out. I mean heck, if ya gotta be stuck there longer, at least having those tubes out are a relief.
Keep on fighting Wendy!!!!!!!!!!
