Now last night I was watching TV and a small item came on which at first I never noticed, then Canada was mentioned, it got my attention. A NZ reporter was in a shop that sold ice cream, 218 different flavours, I was impressed. I think it was Vancouver. I will look out for more reporting .

That looks like it is in thin slices . Is that how the ice cream is served. To me the pictures shows like ribbons.

Hey larrynz (from New Zealand).
Many thanks for mentioning that you seen "Canada, BC, Vancouver" mentioned in your area. Excellent news. The other night, I was watching CSI:Miami and they stated that "2 snow birds from Ottawa Canada found the body". Their TV show was on a hot summer day and they still implied that Canada is a "snow bird" country. Unknown to many US folks, lower Ontario Canada is actually closer the the equator then their own Minnesota, Washington, Montana, North Dakota and Michigan states. And New York City area in New York state gets more snow (from lake effect) then many towns in lower Ontario. And their Main state is actually further north - compared to Ottawa Canada. Yet, the CSI:Miami folks implied that all of Canada is snow bird country. Sorry to mumble on.... I just find it funny at times that in a different TV program, someone mentions a specific city in Canada and its actually further south then a few of their own States.
Back to topic.... It was nice read that Canada was mentioned all the way down in your New Zealand area. I hear lots about NZ in my North Ontario Canada area. Mostly from my wife - who "one day" wants to visit your country. If only some dreams do come true....
thanks.

The Ice Cream is actually Gelato, or the plural Gelati. It is Italian ice cream made from milk and sugar, combined with other flavourings. The gelato ingredients (after an optional pasteurization) are super-cooled while stirring to break up ice crystals as they form. Like high end ice cream, gelato generally has less than 35% air - resulting in a dense and extremely flavoursome product. Gelato is the generic Italian for ice cream. The same word is commonly used in English speaking countries to refer to "ice cream" that is prepared in the Italian way. "Gelato" is an Italian word for "frozen" and comes from the Italian word gelare, meaning "to freeze." From what I read the Viagra tastes like lemonade. Kinda gives a whole new meaning to the term "frozen stiff". Phil

Spike a few years ago they had the world BMX Champs at Whistler, a few I knew went, it was a ski resort, unused off season and ideal to hold an event. They all spoke highly of Canada, thought we had a lot in common.

Hi Larry, New Zealand and Nova Scotia actually look somewhat alike in relief maps, although your North Island and South Islands are further apart. Nova Scotia New Zealand Phil
