Hi all, I had it done Wed. 11th and came home on Friday. The procedure seemed easier than I had anticipated as they gave me a drug so I don't remember it. I didn't feel very good Wed. and have had a cough since having it done. I go back for tests on Tuesday. They said it will take 6 to 8 weeks until we can tell if it helped my condition. I'll write more tomorrow. Sheila

Thanks so much to all of you for your good wishes. I have had bronchitis. I think I had it starting the 11th, day of procedure. They gave me two rounds of anibiotics in the hospital,(routein)....I talked to the doc and let him know I was coughfing up orange stuff so he sent me Levaquin, when I was home. I have 5 more days of this and am finally feeling much better. The biggest problem has been sleep deprivation. I am now starting to sleep more. They wouldn't give me anything to sleep. This is the first time I have been sick since being diagnosed in 1998 so I shouldn't complain. Things are looking up.

O.K. Auntie; you need to keep laying low/chillin (as the young'ins would say) for a bit obviously. When you're up to it we're here waiting to hear...

Hi Sheila, Great to hear from you. Been wondering how you were doing. When you do that write up, don't forget to post it on the new Life With COPD forum. Remember, the old forum went down and your posts went with it. Grrrr. It is no longer. You had the address. If not I will give it to you.
I am still praying for that this will be positive and help. Enjoy the movies. I will probably see my doctor in September. Maybe you will know if it works by then. Take care,

Hi all, Here is an update I wrote over at CI, will copy and past as I am lazy.. ....I got over the bronchitis and felt pretty good for a bit then last Saturday came down with some kind of bug...slight fever, 100.4, chills, slight nausea along with little shooting pains in head and various places. I have had this before in my life and always just thought it was a virus so I thought the same thing this time. The Doc agrees.. I went back for 1 week testing...and it was not easy...still had the bronchitis. I had full pulmonary tests in the phone booth, blood tests, 6 minute walk , did not do very long. then off to the hospital for a kidney ultrasound. Went home and took another round of Levaquin and that did the job, bronchitis gone. Horay I decided I need a treat and had digital cable and HBO added to my TV, had regular cable before. Have really enjoyed it...meanwhile feeling a little better each day and did exercises and went to local hospital for blood test as I still have low sodium. The BLVR Docs want my PCP to treat this. Went out to lunch with my Sister, who by the was is the best in the world and makes my life so much easier. Wish I could clone her and give all of you a sis like her. Meanwhile, next day Sat 28, I get the dumb virus. I have just been resting and hoping to feel better so I can get back to exercising. I am waiting to hear from PCP to see what tests they will do for the low soduim. Anyone else ever had this? I am a little bummed because I didn't think I would have any side effects....One of the men in Group 1 had his second procedure the day I did and he is almost off oxygen. He is doing great..so there is hope. The Doc said improvment comes in little bursts with this...hope this all is clear....any questions ask away. Sheila

Take care Sheila and thanks for keeping us updated, still sending positive energy and thoughts your way for a speedy recovery. I love watching movies, especially old ones with John Wayne, Kirk Douglas, Katherine Hepburn, they are just a few of my favorites...

I agree with Ellen....we'll keep sending positive thoughts your way. Just think how great you're gonna feel when you get beyond all these plaguing illnesses! That in itself is something to look forward to.

Hi Guys, Sorry it has been so long since I've posted. I am feeling pretty good. I do feel as if I breathe easier although I still do get sob sometimes. I am going to see a Kidney specialist the end of September as I was diagnosed with a kidney problem. My kids are here now and we are all having a blast. I go back for pulmonary testing early October and I am going to try to get the printouts from pre-teatment to post and see any changes. Every one seems to think I seem a lot better and they say I have better color. I keep thinking it is my new makeup....but all in all I am feeling good. Sheila

So glad to hear you're feeling better Sheila and TY for taking the time to let us know. I'll be really interested to see/hear your comparative numbers!
I hope your kidney problem is not too serious; it would be like adding insult to injury in a way.
Also; gotta tell ya; your attitude sounds GREAT!

Hi Sheila; I have really been thinking about you. I wondered if you were okay. Sorry to hear still working with the Kidney problem. Was hoping you were recovering. Hope the infection is all cleared. I hope you are showing improvement breathing. I can see how it could be hard to tell if not a big change. You have just gone from one thing to another after you had the procedure. Keep us posted. Sounds like you are enjoying life and so have fun now. I don't usually do this but I don't have your email address. The last time I left a PM on the old forum you never saw it. You were updating also on the Living with COPD forum up until it was deleted. You joined the new one but have never updated. It is Life with COPD and this is the link. You joined but never posted. copd2.proboards59.com/index.cgi?I am thinking you may have lost the forum address. Hope next update you could include it. Thanks and enjoy. Bet your weather is better.
