I had my repeat CT Scan on Aug 4. Since I hadn't heard any results I called the Coordinator this morning. Her message said she is on holidays until Aug 17 but the other Coordinator was picking up her messages and would call me back. She called this afternoon and I had to tell her what I was looking for. She pulled up the report and quickly read through it. It said the original nodules were stable however there were now more. Recommendation is to follow up every three months. Not entirely what I wanted to hear. I questioned her on what the next step would be and she said when Cathy returned from vacation she would have her send the scan results to the doctor to have them review it. So I guess I wait again...

toni, I'm sure that's not what you wanted to hear...the good news, it hasn't changed size and that is good news....to say not to worry won't work so I'll say don't worry too much until you hear the resullts from the doctors etc.......
I have had many spots/nodules in my past few years and they have been nothing to worry about in the end, it's just the wait that will tear you up
(((((hugs)))))

Thanks Wendy...I need you all to reassure me.
What I don't understand is why are there more? I guess I'll have to wait for my answers.
Thanks for the hugs!

Hey Toni;
I guess it's not what you wanted or hoped to hear eh?
Wendy's sooooo right in the nodules "being there"; not toally uncommon for us with COPD and I knpw it's a BIG concern for you right now from a couple of perspectives........
You asked "why are there more?" I wish I knew; but it happens. It might be from scarring, or from an old or recent infection. I can't say I know. In actuality if many folks with COPD were to get a scan they'd find a lot of "benign" type nodules. (I know from expereince and the percentages of folks who had things show up from the study I've been in)
I wish I had an absolute answer Toni but I don't. If it's any help at all..... I've had a few more show up since my cancer as well as old ones but; so far so good!
Hang in there.......

Tony, sorry you didn't get the news we would have all wanted, but the good part in it is that it didn't change. It's like Wendy said I would say don't worry, but heck I know from experience that doesn't work, so just don't worry too much. As far as the the new ones, have you had an infection? Many things bring the little ones in like that sometimes they are little benign nodules and sometimes they go away. Keep you head and heart positive, and keep lookin' up!!

I had a pretty bad infection over the winter which was cleared by mid April. I've actually felt pretty good since then. I thought that the original ones could have been from that but I'm at a loss as to why there are new ones. I'm trying to keep positive with the news that there were no changes to the first lot...but it's hard as you can all appreciate. Thanks to everyone for your comments...they mean a lot. Toni
