Today Char and I had another adventure. She took me to the hospital for my scheduled bronchoscope. I had one about two and a half years ago and this one was much nicer as far as stress and anxiety due to the staff and the way the dealt with things...(nice!)
it was decided that my TTO is creating the sores/blood/plugs. apparently they think it's too long and is rubbing on my trach and just continuing to create troubles. they have ordered a smaller one for me and we will try that. still on the pred for another few weeks and they did "scrape" while they were there and will examine that for anything else. I see my pulmo in two weeks and we will go over all of this.......I am still a little in la-la land but so glad the found "something!"

Wow.
Glad it was much less stressful and easier on you. I believe with anything, it is the employees that can make all the difference.
I hope that it is just the trach thing that is the problem. Here's keeping the fingers crossed for you.

Thanks Zoom for letting us know. I know you're feeling a degree of relief.... relief that the scope is finished and relief that they may have finally found out what's causing your problems. So....... here's hoping! Any idea when they'll change out the tubing or do you have to wait to see your Pulmo Dr?

Wendy, that's good news on the tubeing, heres hoping the rest of the news is good too. I'm glad the process was easier for you this time, the people make all lthe difference.

You must be so relieved. I hope the puzzle is solved, and that everything else is good.
I've never had a bronchoscope. Do they put you out for it? If not, I can see the anxiety happening.

Char told me they said when I see the doc at her office they will change the tube....this is silly though cause I get it from my 02 supplier. I didn't feel good today so didn't call anyone....may tomorrow........ yepper I am glad it's over and that is wasn't as awful this time, still can't do it through my nose so they just do the throat. had a neb treatment first with lanocaine (speilling? the numbing stuff) and it really worked well............ thanks everyone for thinking of me  |
