This doesn't apply unless you live in Australia but I found it interesting. Anyone that does not know, Seretide is Advair. Same company but just the name on it in the other countries. COPD Drug CheaperMORE than a million Australians stand to benefit from the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme listing of a drug to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Patients previously had to pay about $150 a month for Seretide. Its listing will cut the cost to $5 a month. The drug is listed for COPD patients who do not get sufficient relief from their medications. COPD, which comprises chronic bronchitis and emphysema, causes reduced airflow to the lungs. It affects about 1.6 million people. Smoking is its most common cause. www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,22174406-662,00.html

Wow; that's a considerable difference. Thanks Mary. Heck; maybe the folks who do take Advair should be buying through Australia.

It's interesting Mary. Thanks. It does make me wonder if the patent is about ready to expire.
Drug companies generally do things like this to make themselves look like "good guys". They then change one molecule of the old formula and re market the new product under a new patent. $$$$$$$
Yeah, I know I'm a horrible skeptic. ;D BUT as Ronald Reagan said, "Trust but Verify".

I think Australia is like us, they have a list of subsidized medicines, as an example before spiriva was on that list it would have cost me about $NZ80 per month, now it costs me $NZ3 for a 3 month supply. A NZ dollar is = to 76¢ US.
