Here's what I have found. Might be more than any of us wanted to know. But, it fits with what I do know they did one time to my Mother who had CHF just what it says to remove the fluid from around and sometimes in the lungs casing the heart to have problems. Hers was done on the right side like just under the 3 third rib. She was awake through it all. I just don't recall the name. I've never had it done but have seen it as well as Intercostal drain insertion done in the ER several times.
