. A few moments ago, I posted a "plea for help" in a different forum. Since some of you are into camping or know other folks who are in wheel chairs and continue to camp (during comfortable summer months), I'm hoping you might be able to help me. Actually, it's to help my disabled son. For details, surf contents within: www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/19596316.cfmMany thanks for any ideas you can provide. .

Spike, Tom tells me the the KOA camp grounds have things for us in wheel chairs. I don't have a site but more than likely just under KOA he was a member for a while and when I didn't have insurance I got some off for him being a member. I will try and remember to have him post about it when he comes in. I do know he stayed in them traveling from Tacoma Washington to here in West Virginia. His family has used them for years as they are all campers and out door people.
Happy Trails

Spike, we do lots of rv'ing all over the US and Canada and have seen RVs with lifts installed, but the doors have been modified to accomadate a wheelchair. Have also seen steps that have been installed that lift up into the RV. You might check with an RV store like Camping World to see if they can help you. They do have a web site. Do have an RV now? The Toy Haulers have ramps in them to get the bikes and 4 wheelers in and I think they have a door to the main living area. Might check that out. Hope you come up with a solution. We love traveling with our fifth wheel.----------Sandy

Hey Spike, I'm Rosemaries Hubby, The KOA campgrounds have places for people with disabilities . You can get a free magazines from online and it will tell you what each site provides and will also give insurance . I have used many of Koa campgrounds all over the western half of the U.S. when I was traveling with my grandfather. All I have too say is that some places are better than others. but the majority has handicap access. The magizine list what is accessible at what site and prices along with water and electricity. All I have too say is watch out for those blasted misquitoes THEY BITE. Tom
