Every time something like this happens, I feel that I have lost a close personal friend...and in fact, I have. Even though we have never met in person, we have touched each other's hearts in a very dramatic manner. Have a good journey, Larry old friend. -- Vic

Larry and Buttons ..... what a pair! That memory is etched on me ..... To his family I must say that after the initial grief you have the benefit retaining the memory of his up front and close connection. No more LarryNZ to start our days.

I've known Larry for awhile; as many of us have; and we all knew he was very ill beyond COPD. But; this kind of news; catches a person off guard.... And; frankly...... I'm sad. Certainly nowhere near what his family must be feeling.... No; he didn't post here much in the past year but....that's secondary. He was battling in many ways. I remember his being in the first group of people involved in this forum; I remember his pride and photos of his grandkids. I remember the photos of Marilyn's hand made yarn type animals he shared. I remember Buttons......... I remember his outdoor plants in his backyard and the spring lambs in the fields on his walks when we were in the middle of our winter. I remember waking up to the different photos every day, from what I think was his son's visit to an exotic, warm place, this previous winter before, that he would post; opening the gate here for us in the mornings. Again; our winter. The coffee pot was on, and the gate was always open.... Thanks to him. I remember it was he who got me using a crock pot.... I remember knowing Larry as being one of the first on the net that I interacted with; even before there was "this" site.... I remember, I remember...... and; I shan't forget. To Marilyn and family......Larry was a big part of the lives of many; in different ways and maybe different times. But....... he was loved by me, and so many, many others. His family; yours, was his life. To Larry...... Rest easy, breathe easy..... I'll/we'll; see you on the other side..... Jackie

We will see you again Larry. You were my friend, our friend, I remember always asking what you were cooking, you had such great recipies. And the pride you had for your family, and your lovely wife Marylin, showing off her crafts, and I asked if i could buy two for my twins, and you said she does not sell them. You were a good man a family man, a friend to so many. Now you are an angel , and I am proud to have known you. Love Linndie

I am carrying over the same post I put up elsewhere. Jackie, I have memories too. I like your post. I have some special memories too. We all do that knew him. Larry was a special kind of friend. I felt honored to be considered a friend of his. His intellect, laughter, fun, caring and love were just part of what he shared with his family and friends. Such a caring person. Marilyn’s words just confirm that the person we knew in cyberspace was the same person that she knew. I will be praying for comfort for Marilyn and the family during this difficult time.
As much as I want to quit posting I won’t. It was Larry that convinced me to keep posting when MaryKY passed away. I wanted to stop and to not get close to others that I knew I might lose and hurt again. If I had, that would be my loss as there is so much good to be shared between friends and we can also give back what might be needed by others. That is what our friends would want that are no longer with us.
Rest in Peace Larry. You will be missed by many. You were a special friend.

Marilyn and family, I never really got to know Larry as I've only been coming here for the last year. But what I did get from his words is that he truly cared about his fellow COPDer's. It is so obvious that he was much loved and admired by so many people. I am sorry you've had to say goodbye so soon, but take comfort in knowing he is at peace. God bless him, and God bless you all, as well.

Being a relative newcomer to the forum I also did not know Larry well. But when I heard of his passing I went through a lot of his old posts and discovered a very caring man. I feel better for having read his words. Larry's passion for his family and friends (both human and animal) was obvious. It's difficult to find the good in goodbye, but how lucky we are to have had someone that makes saying goodbye so hard. Perhaps this short poem will help. Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean we'll miss you Until we meet again! ~Author Unknown Bill

Larry, you will sorely missed by everyone here. Rest well, breath easy and enjoy your new found freedom from all health problems. God Bless you until we meet again. Marilyn and Family, I only met Larry when I joined the forum in October 2008 and I must say this news was such a shock to me. I so enjoyed his family tales, his dog that he loved and lost, and his garden, walks he would take and the lovely pictures taken by one of children on a trip that he shared with us. May god bless you and keep you in his arms until you meet Larry again.

I remember Larry always opened with wonderful pictures that brightened my mornings while outside my window was nasty winter dirty word. I remember Larry as being a kind and caring person, who always has a cheerful message of hope for others. Larry, I am honoured to call you friend, may you fly easy now, and we'll meet someday. Marilyn, I am so sorry for your loss, there are no words for that, other than, you know he is in a much better place now, free of pain, free to be and with you always.

Hi Everyone--I know I haven't posted for a long time but I am so very sad to hear about Larry. I get up so early in the mornings, and most mornings, Larry would have already said good morning to us and gone to bed. He would always start my day off with pictures or something positive to make me smile. I would never want him to have continued to suffer but he will be very much missed. I could tell by his postings that he was a very special person and brightened my day. Thank you Larry and rest in peace.

Joyce, I don't know if you will read this but I asked Jackie about you a while back. I wondered if you were okay. I always enjoyed your posting about your workouts so much. I don't get over here too often but I am always on the Day to Day board.
I hope you are okay. I think of you often. Larry would be pleased you posted. He was a good person and had a loving family. You expressed it so well. Take care, so nice to see your name there.
