Here is another article that is not composed properly or the patient was not well informed. It is an easy read. Sometimes I think I should quit reading these but then I might miss something good. www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/yorknews/display.var.1723632.0.please_give_up.phpOne part states: "Brenda said John's heath problems started three years ago after he went to see the doctor with a chest infection. Brenda said: "He was diagnosed with a disease of the lung called emphysema." and goes on down to: "Then in February 2006 he came down with a chest virus and had some more X-rays at the doctors. He was told he had got a severe form of lung disease, called chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). "I think it was worse for him because it was on top of the emphysema he also suffered with."I can usually hold most my emotions 'in check' but I just get so irritated/frustrated when I read things like this. Did he or did he not even get good care. Did anyone tell him what he could do for himself. Sounds more like I was going before I hit the floor. I highlited the color, not them. It is a sad story.

I just read the article Mary (you're right an asy, quick read).
You said......"Here is another article that is not composed properly or the patient was not well informed." I couldn't agree with you more. I found myself just shaing my head as I read. If he was still working and had been diagnosed 3 years prior he SHOULDN'T have only lasted 3 years unless he developed a major problem. That's the reality. But; it didn't sound like he had (other than a chest infrction); since he just "steadily went down hill)

It does become quite frustrating when the facts regarding copd are not presented accurately. It gives people the wrong impression and we need all the medical assistance and research that we can get..Joyce
