This article is about The VIAspire Liquefier which makes liquid oxygen in the home for patients requiring oxygen therapy. It has been approved by FDA. You will note in the article that there is still more yet to be approved. "Compatible with the VIAspire Liquefier are oxygen portables (pending FDA 510(k) approval) in three different sizes, allowing patients to maintain active lifestyles. These portables, with proprietary SmartDose(TM) technology, are the first devices to sense and adapt to the patient's respiratory needs, especially during exercise, a key to improving patient outcomes." biz.yahoo.com/bw/070924/20070924006307.html?.v=1 This article below is "Inspired Technologies Announces Latest Round of Financing" tinyurl.com/3ccbk7Here is the Website and will tell you all about this. I have read most of it but need to look little more. I still cannot quite get a handle on this. The containers look awfully big in the picture. At least big compared to what I see people in rehab carry their LOX in. www.inspiredtechnologiesinc.com/ It does look like an exciting step.

I talked to these people last week. They hope to start getting the system on the market in a couple of months. Unfortunately I expect it to be more expensive than other homefill systems, and none of these are cheap. The portables are basically the Caire Spirit line of portables see www.chart-ind.com/litfiles/11855637.pdf (but they will probably have to have a different fill connector as FDA is paranoid about not being able to use homefill portable equipment with regular commercial systems) possibly with a different control circuit board for their Smart Dosing system. I use a Caire Spirit 300 which I have on a waist band - I put it on when I get up and don't take it off until I go to bed. I even wear it like this when driving. There is no other type of system that I would want to use! Chris

Hi Chris; Thanks for sharing your info. Maybe it is not so large as it looked to me. I know it will be costly but the advancements are real good to see.
I just use regular compressed but I am aware that the tanks for the HomeFil compressed are not the same as the ones I use. I didn't know that for long time and it is too bad they are not interchangeable. Guess it also helps keep pricing down.
I still have to buy all my own and our funds are limited and so I just get excited that there are new things being worked on. Thanks again,
