My disabled son loves listening to music. But unfortunately, he accidently destroys 1 CD Player every 6 months. And, he often breaks a DVD Movie Player loading tray ever 6 months as well. And since he hasn't learned that touching the surface of a CD/DVD disc is a very bad thing, he accidently destroys his disc media as well... My wife sometimes says, "he wears out CD/DVD players like a box of tissues while having a sinus cold". (which is very sad). A few days ago (while he was at camp), we bought him a "low cost" Media Player. It plays great music (off its attached TV) and its 720P format movies are "good enough" for him as well. For this media player, we simply "load up" an 8 GB USB stick and plug into its side. Using the front / top bubble buttons, he's already learned to select either music and movies content (from its attached USB stick). No remote control device (and its very small buttons) to fuss with. And being bubble buttons, he can operate this device himself. And, there's NO moving parts (like a CD or DVD Player loading tray) for him to accidentally destroy. If into Media Players or thinking of getting another family member a Media Play device for Christmas, do investigate the "Low cost" NBOX Media Player device. re: www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=44_567&item_id=025371As some might say, it isn't always about the product's price or hi-def ability. It's sometimes about its "ease of use". Hope this helps others... .
