I've not posted anything yet on this; Wendy's been keeping it kinda low profile about it but....... As you may recall she had developed a hernia "post LVRS" How bad is that? How many people does that happen to??? It became enough of a problem in QOL /daily living that she opted for surgery to remove it. It was hoped she'd be in and out same day even though they were cutting through some muscle etc. Painful no matter how you look at it! Her surgery was scheduled for this morning but as of my post here.... she'd been bumped once and was still waiting, then delayed again because of the surgeon's problem with another patient. She was finally taken up to surgery a little while ago.... I know that things will be fine but we can never take anything for granted no matter how strong someone may seem to be can we? And Zoom (Wendy) you're one of the Strong ones" and helped many over the years. Love and prayers g'friend..... we're hanging out waiting patiently with Sarah..... just as it should be

Virginia posted the following message on another board about Wendy. I thought I would bring it here. Hopefully Virginia doesn't mind. I know she still has a problem with her shoulder and typing.
"Wendy's daughter posted this: In recovery now, they might keep her overnight, waiting for xray results. They had to put mesh in and drill through her lung to hold it in place (the chest wall hernia). Char said her pain level is really high............if mom has to stay and Char is staying I will be heading to Denver as well................"

TY vvm MaryAZ and Virginia. It's truly appreciated. I just got a message this morning from her daughter Janet.... (as I was typing this) she said that Wendy's doing much better this morning and they were doing an xray. If all looks good, she may get sprung!

Thanks Jackie and Virginia. It is great that Wendy is home. I too read the messages and was going to come here and correct what I put up last night. Jackie put part already about drilling the ribs, not lungs. Following are parts of what the daughters posted elsewhere concerning yesterday. It is interesting to see how they do these things. I know anytime you mess with those ribs it is painful. This first quote is the one Jackie posted here earlier.: “her surgeon was just here, the pain is from having to drill four holes in ribs to hold down the neoprene trampoline to keep the alien from escaping!!!! He is fine with her staying another day, we will see later this” And “I was corrected yet again, it is a gortex mesh thing, not neoprene “ “ah ha ha ha, Charmaine was so tired when she was giving me updates yesterday, they didn't drill her lung to tie down the mesh, it was her rib they drilled!!! We have to wait a little while to see if they will discharge her....pain is bad and pill form isn't working, but we will see”

Thanks for keeping us informed on how our friend is doing. Now, why does it have to hurt? With all the pain meds available there doesn't seem to be a reason for it. Sheesh. Hope she's feeling better tonight, poor girl.
