I know it seems all I do is whine here but my daughter gets married Oct. 30. I have been too sick to even get a dress shoes, hair done etc. Please pray for me that I will find strength to do this and no body parts will fall out. Gotta laugh! Crying gives me a headache. My roommate (was husband) is going but offers no help. (Nasty thoughts..............there - banished them. You sure sound like a wonderful group of people. I can't wait til I get better and can get to know you well.
Love to you all wishes for wellness and happiness.
God bless, Kathryn

Dear Kathryn....... w/o a doubt I'll say a prayer for you. Can your daughter help you with those things? I realize she's busy but I'm sure she wouldn't mind if it meant the difference of you going or not going. You said you've been too sick.... could/would you elaborate a bit maybe? Did you have a flare up (exacerbation) and your on meds or is it the regular stuff that comes with COPD. Hang in there gal....

Prayers and a to get you through this time. Did you make an appt. to see the dr. about what's going on? Perhaps you're in the midst of an exacerbation and need some help. As for shopping for the wedding, I know how hard it can be to force yourself out of the house, but for your daughter, YOU CAN DO IT!!! I believe in the power of self persuasion, so talk yourself into going and just do it. Call up one your friend's and get her to go along with you to help you pick things out. It's even harder when your head's not in the right place and you don't even feel like being there, so it sounds like you need someone with you. If you can't find anyone, be sure to ask a sale's clerk for assistance. They're pretty good at knowing what looks good on someone, just don't let them talk you into spending tons of $!! Hope you get some energy and good vibes, Sue

;DYou guys are great. I got lucky and ordered the stuff from sears site. The dress I had looked at once and the day I ordered it it was 1/2 price. The shoes - they're leather flat slipper decorated shoes and cost more than the dress and I'll probably never wear them again. I hope losing all the weight I didn't make my shoe size smaller!!!!!!!!!! You guys are smart! I got a friend to go with me and one will be waiting and they all know the score with my "new" room mate. His mother and her fiance will be there too. God help me! I've come up with a good line from TV. "Ill certainly give it the attention it is due." Hah! Works for everything. I'm excited. I'll see my 1st husb family and my daughter assured me they can't wait to see me. My friend says, if it gets personal just walk away. Good advice. (As usual) You know its a shame he loves another lady. Its a path I never thought I'd walk. No verbal abuse from "roomate" now that I'm a roomie.
Someone was asking me what besides Copd is wrong. I have right now a prolapsed bladder and bowel and the symptoms are killing me. I have to have surgery but it could take months to even see a surgeon. Meanwhile I deal with is finding a way to empty bowel, waves of nause I've never never experienced before. I'm on medication they give Chemo patients but even it isn't enough to touch it BUT I intend to make it to that wedding. I better go eat one of the five foods I'm allowed to eat as I'm getting a headache. Thanks everyone for your good wishes. The dress I got is a size 14! I've lost 120 lbs! I'm just going to put my hair up and my girlfriend is doing my makeup and fixing if necessary my hair. My baby girl is getting married and I love her so much and have missed many things in her life because of other illness but nothings going to stop me !!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Good job with the weight loss, although from the sounds of it, your body kinda turned on you and dropped the weight from being sick. That parts no fun but you can be happy with the results, anyhow. That's a toooonnnnn of weight! I'll bet you are going to be beautiful for the wedding. Is it today? The shoes sound hot! What color is the dress? You are going to be so proud of your daughter, and your friend has the best advice about walking away if things get mean. Don't let anything ruin your daughter's or your day. Stick up your chin and smile away!!! I don't understand why it's going to take so long to see a surgeon. Have you seen anybody who is going to make the appt for you? Boy, that's one thing about the States, we get right in when it's something as serious as what you have. I have to get into a surgeon myself, but won't know until Mon. how long it's going to take, but know for sure it won't be longer than a week or two. That's outrageous that you have to wait. What types of foods can you eat? Sounds like it'd be easier to list those five than the rest you have to avoid. Now there's a diet plan I don't like! I have to avoid all fiber and that's no fun, either. All those good fruits and veggies....I cheat but I pay for it big time. Enjoy the day, and dance!!!!! PS, just went back and noticed the wedding isn't until next week. Hey, that's my sister's anniversary, too! Well, this way you can tell if the shoes are going to work and can replace them if you have to. I would imagine your feet would change if you lost all that weight. Hope you don't, though, they sound way too hot to have to give up on.

Thanks ;)for the cheering section. Again, you guys are great. It's just a bad night. Very downhearted. I'm doing all the right things to make myself better and I'm only getting worse. Mother in law just informed me she won't be going to Jen's wedding because she wasn't invited personally by Jennifer. Jen is so last minute with everything. She marries this Sat. and was just sending out invitations last week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She didn't organize or leave enough time but they seemed adamant about marrying quickly. Some people can be so petty. I bet they wouldn't turn down a last-minute dinner. People !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Luv ya Kathryn

My daughter eloped. Found out 2 days later. No invitation at all for us. Disappointed but not miserable with her about it. I guess you're MIL will be missing a good thing then. So sorry for her. She'll regret it one day. Don't sweat about it . It's her problem..not yours.

It is a shame that your MIL is responding the way that she is, but on the other hand, would it hurt Jennifer to pick up the phone and call her grandmother? I can kind of understand. I know my daughter talked to my mom about the wedding. Probably wasn't any kind of oral invitation, just talking about it. I think your MIL is being petty, but I also think her grandaughter should give her a call and smooth things out. Just my opinion.

Thank you all for the encouragement and wisdom. It was a great time. I have now left my husband but have to go back for rest of my things (especially craft stuff). I am doing OK considering I have chronic depression I am managing to keep away but my body and mind went into shock today and I was frozen in one position on bed at daughter's house for 7 hrs. I guess I'd had enough and my body knew it. Luv you all Kathryn (sunset)
