again Deepcreek. I see you were posting on an older topic about 'Tired". Thought maybe we could help you more by starting a new topic about Coping with COPD. That way we may also help some others that are reading. Many of us can share our experiences in hopes that some will help you. Everyone is different. Some small things can sure help to live wih this better. Any medical changes need taken to your doctor to question but we can give you suggestions and things to inquire about. How much do you know already about COPD. There are some good reads in the section "New To COPD and/or Forums?" It is difficult for family to understand. Yet on the other hand we do need to be as active as possible. It often takes very small steps to start being more active. Have you ever been to a pulmonary rehab. They are great to get you in shape. Definitely, if you are not happy with your doctor and feel this is not the right treatment for you, then change. You may well need to be on oxygen and if so that is another topic that can be discussed. You also cannot try making too many changes at once. If you are not in good shape starting on the TM is not the best idea. I was in rehab for weeks before they let me on the TM and then only 2 minutes at 1.2mph. Open up and talk. There are plenty of members here to help. That is what this is all about. You might enjoy this read inspired.freeservers.com/sicklungs.htmL

The holidays are a busy busy time. There is so much to do. I have to pace myself. Just do what I can, then rest for a bit. If I need help with something, I ask. Will your family help you?

I was always tired before I was put on O2, But I have had it a little over a year now and I dont seem to get as tired,But I also dont work out of the home anymore. I myself have tried to add a small nap in the afternoon. That has helped alot. It just takes sometime for us to learn to pace ourselfes to what we are now able to do. Try not to dwell on what you cant do but be proud of yourself for what you can do. I hope this has helped try not to get to discouraged, bobbioh

Do learn to say no to doing so much for the family. It's time for others to take over now, and I'm sure they will enjoy starting their own holiday traditions.
AND it's time they started doing things for you.
Relax and enjoy it.

Your numbers were low enough, how are you getting along with your O2? Hope you don't have to much of a time adjusting to it. Take care & Blessings

If you have any questions about the O2 feel free to ask. It does take a while to get used to, and there are lots of "tricks" to help with problems. Chris

Hi Kathy; I just replied in your other topic on o2. It sounds like you do need it during the day. That might make my other reply not applicable. Maybe you do need to ask what to expect. Doesn't sound like anyone told you much about the o2. Best of Luck.

Deepcreek, I'm so sorry for the troubles you are experiencing. It is harder when you don't get the total support you need at home. Hopefully your people at home will realize you need more help from them and this will help to lift your spirits. We're all here for you.
