Larry; Either spelling is correct in Canada. Canadien is prefered by the francophones and Canadian by the anglophones.
Since English is the language of choice by the majority of Canadians and Americans and people of the U.K. I would think Canadian is more correct. (IMHO only) Hugz, as ever, bear.
