My ISP’s been down for most of the afternoon. Not all that bad because I got to do some yard things I’ve been neglecting and spend a bit of “me” time….About our friend…. Today he was tired so I didn’t stay too too long. .Between his visitors, family and just being in the hospital; well….. He’s also been conversing non stop from what I understand . Pat (his wife) was there then Shawna (his daughter) arrived. Anyway; he wanted me to let e’one know that he’s in good spirits still. (says being where he is is like a mini vacation) He’s had a number of “conversations” with various members of the medical community. You know the type of talk; back and forth; the mutual “engaged” type of chatting. He’s enjoyed it tremendously. I wonder how much they learned….. Additionally; he walked 400 ft yesterday… WOW! And his appetite is GREAT! (Phil’s not what you call “heavy” by any stretch of the imagination so he can eat all he wants!) We chatted about a few things; including all of you and the forums, and a matter I mentioned to him about med costs etc; one of which I’ll bring up in another thread since it may be of interest to a few of you as well. He still has a leak…his lung “re-inflation” has remained at about 90%. Today he wasn’t on the wall suction for it (his lung) but rather it was just the machine which is gravity fed. (Boy I hope I explained that right) Monday they’ll probably decide if they’ll try something more….i.e. surgery to seal it. I guess that’s what the CT scan was all about. To see how good his lungs are for a potential procedure. And that’s the news…well; almost. Shawna walked down with me and shared a couple things. I.E. …there will be a few “surprises” for him when he gets home. I’m sorry I can’s share just in case the “cat gets out of the bag”. Suffice to say he WILL be pleased. Also; she said that they have yet to have a “bad” nurse. E’one’s been great!! Nice to hear for a change isn’t it? I’ll tell you what; and from a personal perspective…..I envy the love they share within their family; we should all be as lucky. It’s tremendous and truly brings tears to my eyes. Till Monday everyone….

Jackie; the message sounds good. Phil, keep up the good work. I was not suppose to be talking so much when I was in the hospital, so serious. Take rest in between chats and do your breathing. No one knows better how to do proper breathing than Phil. When I breath, I think of Phil, When I take my Spiriva, I think of Vic, and I can go on and on with other friends I have made but if you cannot breath nothing matters. Thank you Phil, and you have a wonderful family. Shawna thanks for all you do. I suspect somewhere at sometime this will all be read also. Here is to you all, the whole Cable clan. Still in my thoughts and prayers everyday.
