Some of you that have been around for a bit know Vic from the forums; he's also an ocassional poster here. He's a good man; a gentleman. His wife has some very, very serious health issues. Vic carries that full load himself and even for a healthy person it would be a tough road, let alone someone with COPD which Vic has.
Please keep them in your thoughts and say a prayer. They could use it.

Thank you all for the the prayers, they will be well-received. Rita is already showing some signs of improvement and hopefully we can pull her out of the woods. She is no longer in Renal failure, but a long way to go to get out of trouble, but for now, no dialysis. With prayer, love and good medical care, we can get over this hump. Thank you all and God Bless you. -- Vic

I received an e mail from Vic this morning; they were about to head out for Rita's CT scan...
"Doctor called me last night with the blood results. The good news is that the Creatinine went down again to 2.4 (from 4.0 to 3.1 and now 2.4) If she can get down to 2.0, the doctor says she can be maintained at that level. He took her off the insulin pending her daily readings and she is back on the Lasix (water pill) and her edema is still improving a little bit each day. So far, looks good...sure hope it holds up like this after she gets off the Procrit"
In an earlier e he'd also said she must be feeling better since she's back to "picking on him again."
So; here's hoping Rita continues on her upward trend!

Thanks everyone for all the prayers, they sure did work for Rita. I also want to thank Jackie for all her wonderful concern and support, it really helps to have someone there when you need an ear, and boy was Jackie ever a welcome "ear". When I got the call from the doctor last night, it was like we found a new life...and the doctor was just as excited. Rita was very close to dialysis...the doctor wanted her in the ER for observation by kidney specialists and i begged off for 2 more days and thats when the blood tests first came back with a drop from 4 (renal failure) to 3.4). I can't thank everyone enough for giving me my BH back...even if she is picking on me again. -- Vic

I can only imagine how "elated" you must be feeling Vic. I know if it was me I'd be kicking my heels! But then; you probably are.
Thanks for letting us know. The pendulum is swinging higher and upward; may it continue for you both.

Hi All -- I am so excited...the Internist called today and said that Rita's latest blood work came back and showed that her Creatinin level has again dropped, from 4 to 3.4, then to 2.4 and now 2.1.
What seems to be an eternity ago, the doctor said that if we could successfully get her level down to 2, he would be able to sustain her at that level even though it is above the normal level of 1.2 to .7. As a result, the Procrit shots have been changed from once-a-week to every-other-week. She is so alert and I can hold normal conversations with her now...in fact, I took her out for a Shrimp-fest dinner and she ate like she hasn't in many a moon. I've got my gal back again.
Her Echo CG was totally normal and her full Abdominal/Pelvic CT showed some minor things, not enough to worry about. Feels great to have things work out for a change. Thank you all for the special prayers and a special thanks to Jackie. -- Vic
