This is very hard for me to type this today for several reasons but right now Phil is the primary concern....Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers; light a candle if you do those things. He may be going home very soon.
Many of his family is with him (he has a large and loving one I assure you) He's struggling....I won't lie. He's on morphine every hour as needed when he's feeling/exhibiting distress. There's nothing more they can do for him (according to the Dr) except make him comfortable. Additionally it could be this hour or the next 24 hours. They (his family) were informed of this a few hours ago... They're dealing with it admirably.
Shawna asked if it happens during the night should she call or wait until the morning.....
I told her to call.......
I don't know what else to say to you all right now......I'm sorry....
Would someone please advise the other forums....I need to get my S - - - together first. Thank You

Thank you to Jackie for informing the forum and thank you to Rose for sending me an email to tell me this news. I have said a prayer, I only hope it helps, he is a man with such strength of character I sort of took it for granted he was on the mend, I still hope he will beat the odds. My thoughts are with Phil and his family

Jackie,
Just hold Dave close and pet Buddy's head. Know our thoughts are very much with you for strength and comfort. My prayers for Phil and Family. And I believe where there is breath there is life so maybe this is just a bump in the road. And we all once again get to share our lives together.

Just sending my prayers along with everyone elses Jackie you asked me to help and I have informed all at Efforts about Phils condition. I know how strong of a supporter he was to our cause and I am sending my prayers to you too. No matter what happens we all have to leave this world sometime and I firmly believe when you are tired of all the fighting it is best to just let go. I know it is hard but dying is as much a part of living as birth is. Birth is the beginning and we all rejoice and so we should rejoice in the passing of a dear friend and colleague who has fought a valiant fight and deserves his rest now. We the living have to take up the fight now and keep the forum he started flourishing and vibrant in memory of him if he goes to heaven. Hugz and prayers to all, as ever, Barry.

This is such sad news but I will not stop hoping and praying for Phil. He and I were just exchanging emails a few days ago. May the Angels of Light and Mercy surround you now, Phil. You and your family. May Raphael administer to you his healing and the sweetness of recovery. You are held prayerfully, Phil. You are such a good soul, giving so much to so many. Hang tuff, Phil.
And, Jackie, may your Angels surround and comfort you as you extend yourself to Phil and to so many others. Bless you and thank you.
Sweetest blessings, Kasey

Just a quick note...I'm pretty tired. I just spoke briefly with Shawna before I hit the hay; hopefully I'll sleep. (I'm on Atlantic time) Phil's resting comfortably; nothing has changed other than they've increased his morphine to 5 mg every 2 hours and (hourly if more is needed as well)
I don't know how much that is or anything; some of you might.
If in fact this is his time I so pray that his passing is w/o distress for him or for his family; and, with the dignity he deserves.
One of the ways (there's others)I personally judge a "gentleman" is if they stand when a lady enters the room. Well I'll tell you something about this gentleman; he still stood when I would visit him in the hospital even with a collapsed lung. I'd always say "no Phil don't get up" but he still did to give me a hug.
Good Night folks.....

I don't pray too often, but I sure am praying for Phil and his family right now. He is a GOOD man, who has been doing good thing for us. I really hope God spares him for us, but His will be done.
