Virginia did not really want to tell everyone as she felt there was enough bad news. Doug went to the hospital yesterday and part of her message to me then read as follows:
....I hate to even say this but I'm having such trouble...I do have pluersy and am susopped to be on a 10 day thing of reds...Doug started with chest pains this mourning, so he is in Icu on nitro...his heart rate keeps dropping in the 30's...But he was kind of stable when i left..i had to do a neb treatment and help myself a little..
Then she wrote me early this morning and I only just got it a few hours ago, and she did ask that I share it. This message follows as she wrote it. She already thought everyone had enough on their plate and really didn't need more. When will this stop. Not good lately:
I mosted on another forum but forgot that she frequents here also. Regret I wasn't here sooner. Virginia is a very nice person and I really care about her.
Yes, Mary will you please post this or just copy and paste.and thanks friend..., They had to take Doug to a larger hospital Where they had a cardiac unit... ..He did have a heart attack..So he is about 90 miles from me... My son drove with me and offered to stay and we would get a room somewhere..but i didnt have my meds everything happend so fast this mourning....I was stupid and just packed what Doug needed...anyway going to rest a little while and My son will be back he has been lots of help ...Doug will be in icu at the southeat med center , they will give him test monday ..they are thinking it is a blockage..He is still in er when i left but the nurse assured me he would get the best of health..until he got a room...i just called she said he was sleeping like a baby..I'm holding up pretty good ...I am packing enough to stay however long he is there ...I will get a room....So friends sure need your prayers....Thanks so much..Virginia
You are in my thoughts and prayers Virginia and Doug.

Virginia is one of the sweetest gals I know on the forums...I was just thinking about her yesterday; had a look around to see if she had posted (and she hadn't); now I know why.
Without a doubt I'll say prayers for her and Doug....
Thanks Mary for letting us know.

Virginia please take care of yourself, Doug is in good hands, and from the sounds of it, you have a lot of support from a great son... I will certainly be thinking positive for you and Doug.

I am concerned about these two. Doug had trouble not long ago. Virginia is already not well. Maybe no news will be good news. We will probably have to wait for her. Still in my thoughts and prayers.

Virginia; I was so concerned.
Thank you for letting our/your family here know. I'm glad for you and Doug... (Mary was great; told us of what had transpired and your reluctance because of recent events (Phil). ) It's understandable.
But; Virgina; each one of us is gonna have ups/downs; good days and bad and even crisis situations. We're here to support and share; through the good times and bad and sometimes those bad times may seem like thery're adding up with us individually; and then with with e'one else's problems on a forum we don't want to burden further......BUT
We're all here becasue we need and want to be here. And; want to be part of a family that understands these things and cares.... you and Doug are part of that family and....
We're all in this together.... I'm glad Doug's O.K. and YOU TOO!
(((((((HUGS))))))))) Jackie

So good to hear from you Virginia. You and Doug get that much needed rest. Funny how it is so hard to sleep in a hospital, whether patient or family in waiting.
Keep a close eye on Doug and get back for the checkups soon as you are suppose to. You watch yourself too. It is easy to get sick when getting rundown. Get lots of rest.
Glad to see you here.

Bet your own bed felt GREAT!
Virginia; I don't know if this is available in your part of the world or not but when you mentioned the # of pills etc for Doug it reminded me of something that you can have done here in the drugstores; at least in Nova Scotia. (I know they do it for seniors if requested but I don't know about the general population)
They'll blister pack the meds by day, time etc etc together. So lets say at 8 a.m. Doug has to take maybe 4 different meds, then at noon, two more different ones etc...they'll blister pack (and it's marked for day and time) the four of them together, the two together and so on.
Here it's a free service.
Anyway; it might be worth checking into. The service here isn't "publicized" but it is available.

I wonder if they do that here in Ontario. Worth checking out. Thanks for the tip, Jackie.
