Hi Every one ; Sue & I have a friend named Mary, who was in an auto accident 2 weeks ago , and crushed some vertebrae in her spine & has been flat on her back ever scene . She is not paralyzed . She is going to have an operation to place steel rods & pins in her spinal column it's about a 6 to 8 hr operation + recovery time . She could very well end up being one of us when this is over . Being a smoker they are concerned ! She hasn't had a smoke in 2 weeks. Her o2 is at around 93 laying down They have her do pursed lip breathing Thur her mouth I showed her how to breath in Thur her nose & hold for 4 sec & blow out the candle ! Wow her stats went up to 96 with 4 breaths! They have already told her that she has copd. She then asked me whats that? Thanks to the help from all of you I was able to give her an informed ans to her ? So tomorrow she needs some prayers as she will be having major surgery Thanks all

I will be praying for your friend, Mary. I hope the whole procedure is not too bad. It is a good feeling to be able to help others with our knowledge. We may regret that they need it but we save them from some difficulty. Sort of like a headstart on their journey. John, always good to hear positive info like that but sad about the accidient.
