toni & welcome! My name is Jackie aka Blossom; and welcome to the forum. Though it says Canada and flies a Canadian flag, we're an International group with a common problem for most of us here.... COPD Feel free to post on any subject anywhere or anytime (just jump right in) or start a thread on a topic of interest to yourself. If you have any questions just ask. Some folks check in daily at the Fence, others pop into the gym and others just come to read/learn etc.Whatever YOU are comfortable with is just fine with us. Just make yourself comfortable. We're a friendly, caring group and we welcome new members to the fold. Hope to see you on one of the boards! (PS to our other members) This is NOT the toni some of you are familiar with from another site.

Thank you for the welcome.
I am Canadian, I live in Oshawa and I was diagnosed with severe COPD (FEV 1 = 20%) 5 1/2 years ago at age 48.
Thankfully I was able to get in to see a wonderful respirologist who aggressively began to treat me.
Since then, with the help of my wonderful husband, we have traveled to Las Vegas, done six cruises (number seven coming up in January) and lived life to the fullest.
Last year I had to go on o2 full time which required quite an adjustment. However it hasn't stopped me from living my life...just doing it with a little more planning.
I'm sure I'll have lots of questions and comments.
Toni (and no, I'm not that other Toni...what happened to that site anyway???) ;D

Thank you all for the warm welcome. It's so nice to be able to talk to folks who know exactly what I'm going through. Ellen, I graduated from the classroom portion of the Respiratory Rehab Program in Courtice in Dec 2002. I have been going for the maintenance exercise Tuesdays and Thursdays ever since. It's been a lifesaver. Toni Now if I can figure out how to put up an avatar...
