Thanks e'one; I'm holding onto all the positive thoughts you've shared with me in various threads and messages (even though my knees are knocking! ) So this is it.......I'm "signing off" for now; have to leave at 5:15 am. so bed's in a couple of hours. They've even given me some Ativan tablets for tonight which I hope works because I've not been sleeping. Daughter (Stacy) has arrived; we've all reviewed e'thing and filled out forms etc..... Hubby (Dave aka DRay)) will keep you abreast. It's gonna be a long few days for them. I Love you all and I KNOW things wil be looked after here. Live, Love, Laugh & Easy Breathing to you All! x0x0x0

I got a wonderful E-Mail from Jackie yesterday, she told me I am an Inspiration to her, I remember the night before my surgery, I tried to escape out of the hospital at 8 pm, I was so scared, they called my husband, we were stationed at Minot AFB, it was Icy cold, he got the neighbor to watch our girls, by the time he came to the hospital I had returned to the ward, Ironcially my husband was a medic in the Air Force, and worked at the hosp. All of a sudden My fear turned into a calmness, and I woke up in ICU with 2 chest tubes, then I went into a severe depression and joined a cancer support group. well I relilzed how truly lucky I was, here were people who were dealing with children with cancers, and people who would not survive. I am one lucky person. I had my lung removed in Dec 14th 1986, ,my entire right lung. I tell you this because, we are so worried about Jackie I hope and pray she will be okay, I hope i gave her and all of you hope. Love Linndie

Jackie -- Still sending good thoughts and saying prayers for a speedy recovery. Linndie, I am just amazed that a person can live with just one lung. It certainly gives me hope that in the future, if I have to lose more of my lung, everything will be o.k. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you everyone, yes you can live with one lung, the right lung has 3 lobes and the left 2 lobes, before i got copd, the only thing i could not do was run, I would get sob but not like i do now. Every day is a gift, you are all a gift to me and each other, btw i was 34 when i had cancer. I pray that Jackie gets better and better each day. This is the nicest and most caring forum i have ever been on. You are all wonderful. Thanks again Love Linndie your friend

I haven't gotten an update on Jackie today, but I believe she agreed to be intubated since she had an exacerbation after surgery and wasn't sleeping. Hopefully, after her lungs rest, they can take out the tube. I haven't heard yet though if they have or haven't. Jackie, I'm keeping you in my prayers...Joyce
