Hi all,
Just a short update while I'm home taking a shower this afternoon. Doug is still in ICU on the ventilator and heavily sedated. They're trying to give the antibiotics and other meds time to work. I've asked to have him transferred to the hospital where his doctor is but evidently there aren't any beds available there right now. And, with the weekend, I can't get hold of his doctor, so will have to wait until Mon.
Barring any trouble, he'll be kept comfortable and very sedated at least until Mon. No one can really tell me even what to expect but things are still quite critical. They've had trouble keeping his blood pressure down (he has no history of this) but it was down a little better today. I just ask for continued prayers for the both of us as we struggle through this trying time.

Mary; It is a difficult time for anyone. Just try to take as good care of yourself as you can because he needs you well. It is so stressful for the caregiver.
