Thanks to all of you for the welcome. Fairly new to this .Just diagnosed about 4 months ago and still a little ticked off.I have kind of an idea what lies ahead and will fight to make my quality of life as good as can be.I am 57 years young and not really that bad yet.Quit smoking about 1 year before finding out. Once again thanks and I will be lurking for info. Larri

Hey Larri; First off; I hope you see this message. I noticed in your post here you had to signed in as a Guest. No problem but if you lost or forgot your password just e mail (when you're prompted for your p'word) and they'll re-send your pass info. Most important.....You sound like you're "young" and "in good shape"; no reason for that to change. When you're first diagnosed it's pretty scary and/or upsetting. We can relate. Nowadays though with the proper "everything", COPDer's are living well into their 70's and 80's. I guess what I'm saying is that it's not a death sentence and a lot of it is up to you. What lies ahead? None of us knows; COPDer's or otherwise. I know, I know....."sure", "tell me what I want to hear", you might be thinking. Not true.....the difference is that we, as individuals, can radically affect our disease and disease progression. (Good Lord; listen to me....sounds lime I'm 90 .....) Don't mean to sound like I have the answers or any of the answers becasue I sure don't (I'm still looking myself ) BUT please read these ...they're From COPDer's to newly diagnosed COPDer's; I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.... www.copdcanada.ca/between_copders.htm
