 Hi, all... my intro. I live in Calgary, 60 yrs. old this June. I have chronic copd. On oxygen at night, and use a bottle when I have to do something strenuous at work. I work as a supervisor, in horticulture related work. I ride my motorcycle to work, and on the weekends up to the mtns. On days when the humidity and other factors are going to give me trouble I take the truck. I was a smoker, quit now for a few yrs. Smoking was on and off on thing for me for many yrs. I also worked in dusty cond, and around chemicals at various jobs breathing in things that if I had know better I may have made better choices. Regardless, I am learning daily how to manage my copd, My last flare up put me in hospital for a couple of days a little over a yr. ago. It almost killed me. Oh, also I was participating in the heliox program here. But had to discontinue due to my decision using oxygen at night, as they were looking at patients not on oxygen for the trials. I believe the program is temporally not active at this time. Anyway, nice to meet you all, keep breathing... Soma.

Welcome to the group, Soma. Hope you find what you're looking for here. I am glad for you that you are able to continue working and riding your bike. Makes life a lot more interesting and fun, doesn't it? Well, maybe not the work part, depends on whether you like your job or not. I know I miss mine like crazy some days. Some days not so much,  .
