Love the name...... does that mean you're a Husky lover? and Welcome to the Family! Please feel free to jump in anywhere anytime on any topic. You'll find the water warm. Some folks check in daily at the Fence- it's open all the time... (come pop in and have a coffee with us), or If there's a general interest item or COPD related issue you want to comment on, share or ask questions, by all means ask away. Or start a thread on a topic of interest or concern to you. Whatever YOU are comfortable with. Don't worry about posting in the wrong area or anything; that's why we have great Admins who can move things or copy etc There's a fair bit of information here and folks are pretty friendly and quite diversified when it comes to COPD; if they don't know something they'll point you in the right direction at the very least.I guarantee you'll be made to feel at home right away! If you've not yet joined our parent organization/ COPD Canada Patient Network, www.copdcanada.ca/sign_up.htm Please consider it. It's open to e'one internationally and it's Free. Membership has it's benefits! There's a lot we can learn and share together ... I hope in time you'll think of us here as a 2nd family. So; make yourself at home and get comfy! My name's Jackie, aka Blossom. I look forward to getting to know you!

Thank you Blossom and John for your warm welcomes!
Yes, Blossom, I had a siberian husky for 12 years, hence the name.
I have recently been told I have severe COPD. This happened after I lost my oxygen and was admitted to hospital. I need all the support and education I can get as my children don't really want to hear about it.
I am looking forward to meeting others and learning how they cope with COPD and the NS medical system.
Talk soon.

Uploaded with ImageShack.usMy goodness, you sure did find out the hard way. What did you mean, though, that you 'lost your oxygen'? Not quite sure. Looks like you are searching for a soft place to fall and I hope you will consider this the place for you. We here are all LIVING with COPD and are happy to help in any way we can so that you can live with it, too. Good to meet you. (by the way, my first dog was a husky and somebody stole her from us. Her name was Kaia) Sue

Welcome to the group, I am hoping that when you said 'lost your oxygen' you meant you became very short of breath. This is a big learning curve, but here you will find a great group of people who can guide you on this path. I too had a sib. huskey, she was 14, and she passed this spring. We are still debating wether or not to get another one. Anyways HI, and welcome.
