Hi, just joining the forums and glad to have found this group! Diagnosed with COPD a few years ago. Casual life impact until just recently when a series of events led to ER and hospitalization, new doctors, new tests, new acronyms. Whew!
I still work but am in Severe category. Completed RT having taken a med leave from work, and have continued to exercise on a similar schedule to the formal RT. Evaluated for LVRS (not 'sick right') and TX (not sick enough yet). Stopped smoking in May, stopped all nicotine replacement in July after being informed that replacement products impact the waiting period for LVRS or Tx. On O2 24/7 that I stopped 'fighting' when RT explained all of the benefits.
Based in Texas. Would like to hear from others and to be a positive, contributing member of the group.

Uploaded with ImageShack.usNice to meet you, Bojanlin, and welcome to the best forum on the net, in my own opinion, of course! Love to have you join us. We all pull each other through the days and keep each other informed on what we find that's in the news/research re: COPD. If you've been looking at us for a while, you know that a great many of us have become good friends, which is great as we know what we are each dealing with, something 'outsiders' can't understand. You sure have been doing all the right things for yourself, kudos and congratulations! You are fortunate to have had the rehab available to you and to have taken part in it, something not all of us are able to do. I have no resources available to me and really miss not having the direction. You said that you are 'severe', what are your FEV1 numbers, if you don't mind telling us? I am at 37%, but have a low DLCO. I had to retire in Oct. 2008 and miss my work like crazy. Started on O2 in 2/2009 just for night/exercise/walking. We're about the same age, do you have a family at home? I have a husband and 2 grown children, no grandkids, just a granddog! Hope to see you around the 'Fence, Sue
