Oh Bobbi, I am so sad that this is happening, I pray that he will be put into a treatment centre. He will need lots of help to overcome this. Keeping Cole and Poo in my thoughts too, they need all the love they can get. Hope you are still on the road to recovery, and that this will not set you back. You take care of you so that you can take care of others.

Robitussin is not new to the drug scene. Back in my young and foolish days when the crowd of friends was trying and sharing what worked for them to get them high, Robitussin was one of the things shared. They would pass the bottle around and drink way too many doses, get sick, and then be high. I never tried it myself as I thought the whole idea disgusting, but it was a cheap way to have a good time. Maybe what needs to happen, and I really hate saying this, but perhaps it needs to be controlled like the other cold medicines that were being used to make meth (It is meth, isn't it?). I hate having to go to the pharmacist's counter and standing in line and signing my name to buy my cold medicine, but it's better than the alternative where it is being abused by drug addicts. I've seen what this can do, Bobbi, and feel so bad for the family, and for your SIL. I hope they will admit him. I don't understand their reasoning for not before because it is a legal substance. .... so's alcohol and they treat that addiction. There should be no difference. I just happen to have a bottle of it in my cupboard and just checked it. There's a black box warning on it to Parents: Learn about teen medicine abuse and a web address: www.StopMedicineAbuse.org.Maybe you'll need to really fight for this one and bring in the box and show whoever it is that makes these decisions as to whether to keep him or not. Maybe it would help? Much prayer and good thoughts for all of you.

Bobbi
I was so sorry to read this tonite. I know how hard it is on other family members when one is having such issues. My brothers and sister were there in the same spot but harder drugs. They need the help, but they have to want to do it.
Yes, poor little ones are the ones we turn our hearts and minds to in the long haul.
I am sending you and the family my love and healing thoughts. I hope it all works out for the best this time.

I feel for you Bobbi, I really do. I went through a similar thing with a family member. It always hurts the ones on the outside looking in. You feel helpless. My family member after a few years sought help and now is married and has a wonderful family. Has not looked back, I thank god for that. Its been 12 years now.
I will pray for you and your family.
Things can change and I pray you are one of the fortunate ones.

Good luck Bobbi, be patient .... its not sinning. The differance is that many people never tried their 'addiction'. Many of us have toyed with substances that had a strong hold on us, but not an addiction. In my case alcohol, pot and smoking. The only on that took extra effort was tobacco We are all addicts we just change our addictions

DEETSK, HOW WELL SAID.
sOMETIMES PEOPLE NEED A REAL WAKE UP CALL, SOMETIMES IT MEANS ALMOST LOSING EVERYTHING TO REALLY SEE WHAT YOU HAVR, sometimes what we want are the very things we do not need. I wish him strength and valor on this journey, he can do it, and the boys deserve it, sending everyone a hug and the courage to change the things we can.
