Boy Bobbi, ain't that the truth! Although the night was so rough and I was all alone to clean up after myself a few times and could have used the nurses' assistance. We were totally unprepared for what was coming. Will take care of that today for sure. Had to toss my very favorite nightgown, bummer. Maybe I can find something on clearance online like it to replace it.
The Visiting Nurse is coming in 45 mins. to check things out and write up her recommendations for therapy. I really need some, that's for sure. Amazing how much strength we lose after 2 weeks in bed. Shaky shaky lady!

Hi Sue. do you mean it was rough last night in your home because I have had some rough nights when I was in the hospital. I would turn the light on for a nurse and after awhile a girl would show up, you tell them what you want and she says "I will have to get a nurse" well what is she there for as she can do nothing but deliver messages which takes more time. GRR. I hate hospitals. Hope you find a pretty gown on line. If you don't have to pay for the walker, just keep it. I have one that I don't use but you never know when it might come in handy and it doesn't cost me anything. Take care and get your strenth back and hope the pain goes away.

Betty, everything you described about the hospital is right on, for part of it. The aides can get you to the bathroom, but when it comes to meds they have to take it to the nurse. In the beginning the nurses at night were pretty good, but I have to tell you the last night was awful. It seemed like both the aide and the nurse working didn't care about their job, burnout maybe? But I had some wonderful nurses to counteract that one night. Wonderful. Now the reason I'd wished I'd still been in the hospital the first night home is because I had a couple 'accidents' in bed and no one to help me. I guess I could have called my husband but I was totally embarrassed and a mess and figured I'd get through it. I did! But it would have been so much easier in the hospital with somebody else taking care of me. Great news!!!!! I have absolutely no more pain as of this afternoon! I've put on 3 lbs, too (I'd dropped down to 78 lbs ), so at least the home cooked meals are doing their job. Maybe now my intestines will start absorbing the nutrients and I'll put on a decent amount of weight. Would like to get back to at least 100, even 105 would be great. I went back for seconds on dinner tonight, how 'bout that? And hopefully I'll be able to taste the goulash my daughter and husband made Sat.. Before I got sick I craved it so much we had it every week, and when they finally put me on a regular diet I kept thinking about the goulash. But it seemed like my taste buds had gone kapooie until I realized I had a mouth full of thrush. No wonder since they had me on antis the whole time I was in there and I'd just finished a course a couple of days before going into the hospital. So I started the thrush meds Sat. and by today they'd already started to do their job and I started tasting food. Spicy food, but flavorful. For dinner we had a rotisserie chicken and it was sooooooo good tasting to me, especially when dipped in BBQ sauce, . Tonight I've been hungry and snacking away, but have to be careful because they took me off all diabetic oral meds and put me on insulin only. I have to watch my Blood sugar levels carefully now, more so than before. Oh well, there's my fantastic news. I'm well on the way to full recovery. And get this........my lungs are the best they've been in ages, maybe a year even. My SATS at rest are 94 and I've been able to get around the house without my O2. Mert is so excited and happy. By the way, my daughter went out to the mall and found me two nightgowns, the only 2 smalls left in the mall she said. Had to go to a few stores to find them, but she did it. They're really pretty, but one is going to be on hold til next winter I think as is a bit heavy in weight. I'm off to say good night at the fence now. Thanks once more for all the prayers that literally saved my life.

Sue, this is great news, you have really turned the corner. Try not to be embarrased about any mess, it is what it is and we can't always help it. Been there done that more than once unfortunately, at least you were at home!! Glad you got onto the thrush, and can now taste what you eat, that is the best news. Just don't overload your system all at once, build up to it with many small meals, don't want to plug up the works again. Wonderful news on your stats. no wonder Mert is smiling, and happy. Just to have you home would do it but to have you breathing better as well, he must be over the moon. Way to Go Girl!!!
