Thanks for the welcome. Not sure how to get started on here. My brother sent me the link. I was diagnosed 8 years ago and quit smoking the next day. I believe I had copd many years before being diagnosed. My daily medications are spiriva, advair 500 and ventolin. I don't use the ventolin every day. I was using a berotec inhaler for 25 years before they banned them. April of 2011 I was severly ill. I thought I had the flu. I was sick in bed for 3 days and on the 4th day I finally went to the hospital where I spent the next 9 days recovering from a bad case of pnemonia. I have been on O2 ever since.

and welcome, tig47. You posted in exactly the right place and way, btw. Where do you live, Canada, US, or somewhere else in our big world? When you have questions or make comments on things it helps the rest of us if we know what part of the world you're from. It can make a difference in our answers. For example, I ton't know what a berotec inhaler is or even if it was available in the US (where I am from). Glad that your brother sent you to us. You can get a lot of information here and make some new friends, too, if you want......friends who are experiencing what you are. Some of us are retired on disability, some just plain retired, and some of us are still working. I've been retired on disability since 10/2008 from the school system. Sue
