Well; I just spoke with her. Little chatterbox today (in a GREAT way though as far as I'm concerned.) She hasn't checked in because she sent her computer home thinking she was going to be released. Not. I sure don't want to steal any of her thunder because I KNOW she has lots to share with e'one (and she's wanting to) so I 'll just give you the current info etc... She's had 3 stints put in to 1 artery. (3 blood clots, same artery)Looks like she may need more but they'll have to check and see when she's stronger/more stable. The problem right now with their releasing her (hesitancy) is because her heart rate isn't stable (lower). It is in the evening; but the rest of the time it's still ranging between 120-150. Her Dr wants it below 100. She sounds great; she really does and.... they're treating her real well.... she also has a private room in the step down unit. Of course her diet is more along the lines of a cardiac patient so I don't think she's getting some of the foods she likes. She will have to go to Cardio Rehab. Bobbi did say something though, and... it makes sense. She feels her breathing is better. And; who knows.... after all is said and done; maybe she won't need to be looking at a transplant yet. Colleen had mentioned something in the previous thread (for those of you unaware, Colleen is a double lung tx recipient) and I agree. It's shocking that this wasn't picked up sooner. I don't know if it's a recent development but....... she (Bobbi) was there about 10 days ago again. Anyway; we'll see what transpires tomorrow. With any luck she'll get sprung BUT.... unless something changes dramatically.... Even though she wants to be at home with her puppies to fall asleep with them on the couch, I think she's also not really wanting to be released too soon. Smart lady.

Thanks Jackie for the update, seems things are going good. And yes she is smart to not push going home to early.

Glad she sounded so good...hope the heart rate evens out and she is feeling better soon. Sending lots of love & prayers. Glad her breathing is better, heart can influence the breathing & that's why we need to keep a good eye on it and not let the Dr's chalk everything to COPD..

, Blossom, for calling and talking to Bobbi. I know it makes us all feel better to know she's on the mend. She is being very sensible about the coming home bit, and I hope they don't send her home too early. As for them not catching the blockage earlier, I've heard more than once of people having just had a complete cardio physical and then a heart attack within a week after. I guess it can't always be caught. My hairdresser's father is one of those who'd just been examined and went on to have his attack. When my breathing got really bad there last year the first thing I did was make an appt. with a cardiologist. Fortunately that wasn't the problem and probably will never know the answer to what was going on at the time, but it is, like was previously mentioned, a common symptom to have SOB along with heart problems. I am so glad that Bobbi is breathing better and hope it continues. Wouldn't it be great if she could hold off on the transplant now? And speaking of that, how does this affect her chances for one? Bobbi, so happy for you. I know you must feel like you've been put through the wringer, but maybe you'll have more energy now that everything is being opened up and the clots are gone. I hope you don't have to wait too long to get that other stent put in so you can put it all out of your mind. Hope you are sleeping better now and just know you'll be home soon enough and able to sleep to your heart's content in the comfort of your own bed. Sure hope the one you're in now is better than the one I had to sleep on, and mine was a new bed to boot! It just isn't like home.

I'm pleased you're on the way back to recovering from this shock. Get your heart sorted out and for sure it'll help with your s.o.b. Get well soon.

Sue, it shouldn't change anything unless the heart damage is so bad she wouldn't survive the surgery but I doubt that is the case here, sounds like they caught it on time and shes breathing better. I know a few who have had to have this procedure done to get on the list so she should be ok but I am by no means an expert so this is something that she should check w/ the TX team to be sure and I'm sure they are gonna want to see her asap also to evaluate her again.
God Bless ya Bobbi!!! Hope your feeling better tonight......hang in there!!!!
