Has anyone heard from Dorthy? The last posting from her was on June 25th. She has so much on her plate at the moment. I sure dont want her to feel she is all alone. I will continue to pray for her as she is constantly in my thoughts.

Ann; I don't think Dorothy is "alone" per se but....... I too am quite concerned.
I had hoped she would have stopped back in by now and she's been very much on my mind as well. I'll see if I can touch base with her tomorrow and let e'one know.

I also am concerned . This is where the " buddy " system comes in handy .

I sent her a personal e-mail on July 1st to see how she was doing, but she has not replied so far.

I think we've all been concerned about Dorothy, but she did say she has many friends who are helping her out, so at least we can be assured she isn't alone. I am so afraid she is having a rough time with the chemo, though. I hope you are able to get ahold of her tomorrow, Jackie, and at least talk to somebody in the house and find out if she's ok. Thanks.

I've moved your thread over here Anna; seems more fitting now that I've spoken with Dorothy a few minutes ago and; she wanted me to ask all of you to pray for her and she sooooo appreciates everyone's concern.

It's been a bit rough.

She wanted you to know that we've all been on her mind (and she was asking about several of you personally from a health perspective)

She's not been on the forum because she has a new laptop which she can't get working properly (not even the mouse) or the Internet. She's going to try and get them to come to her place next week and do something about it. And she feels she's going to have a LOT of reading to do to catch up on everyone when she's back on.

She's had 2 chemo treatments. She's also had a blood transfusion which seemed to do what it was suppose to do BUT; what seems to be causing her the biggest problem with vomiting etc, wasn't the chemo. It's the IV med they used to help strengthen her spine. Anyway; I believe she gets a reprieve from it this week as well. (The staff btw are wonderful at the Oncology clinic. She had nothing but nice things to say about them) Her Dr also feels she may become a bit more accustomed to the meds and the effects...

She feels blessed that she has so many wonderful friends that have been helping her..... matter of fact one of them even showed up out of the blue last night to weed her garden.

I told her that if we hadn't heard from her again by later next week, I would call her.

All in all; she sounded quite good considering what she's had to endure; I don't imagine it's been easy at all.

So; I will continue with my prayers for her and holding her in my heart as I know that you will too.

Dorothy you have been in my prayers, thoughts and heart every day. You are so very very loved by so many here online and in your daily life. Make sure you rest and eat well and come back to us when you can.

Thank you for calling Dorothy, Blossom. I am glad that the biggest reason she hasn't gotten on here is the computer, but of all times to have problems with the computer!!! She has enough going on without having to read through a manual for heaven's sake. I ended up taking back the laptop I bought and buying another desktop. Sooo much easier for me to manipulate, even if I can't take it anywhere with me.

Dorothy, you have been in my thoughts and prayers day and night and I'm hoping the dr is right and that you will adjust to the meds soon. I had heard that that spinal IV could be brutal, but didn't know that you were getting it on top of the chemo. Enough is enough, right? But you've always had the best attitude of anyone I know and will come through this with wings on your shoulders and a bravery patch on your chest. And what wonderful friends you have! That's another thing that makes me know you'll be ok, knowing that you are loved and taken care of by your friends. What goes around comes around and you must have been a very good friend to all of your friends to get it back now.

Dorothy,
So glad Jackie was able to get in touch with you. We have all been wondering and caring what was happening with you. Computer problems, just what you don't need right now!! Hope it gets fixed soon. We have missed you. Know you are going through a lot so hang in there and know we are all behind you 100%.
Chris is doing a little better today. We had a good visit with the Health Nurse and she is all about "solutions". Lovely woman and so helpful and caring. She made a number of recommendations for pain relief and will be faxing her suggestions to our family doctor. I am to follow up with him on Monday. She feels strongly that we need to get this pain under control before proceeding any further so that is our focus for now.
I am also having computer problems which is very poorly timed. Will be taking my machine into the shop on Tuesday to get it fixed. Grr so many things I need to get done right now. Terrible timing!!

Thank you Jackie for giving us an update on Dorthy. I'm so relieved to hear that she is tolerating the chemo, and is getting her computer up and running. Not a good time to be out of this loop. Keeping you in my prayers, heal well and be pain free.
Gwen, sounds like you have a good nurse on the case. Hope the Dr listens to her. Good luck with the computer problems too. It must be something in the air, Liz's laptop is acting up too.
