Gotta tell ya ...... I'm sad.... Many of you will know/remember this person...... Vic I've known him since I was first diagnosed with COPD; met him on line; even before this forum. He's the epitome IMHO of what a "gentleman” is.... and, he’s the first one to always remind us/celebrate when we turn another century marker here on the forum’s membership. Recently I asked if he'd update his original post (from back when I was building the main website) I was intending (7 years later); from when he had posted for newcomers to this disease copdcanada.ca/a_few_more_letters.htm (his is Page 2) of welcomes to newcomers to this disease. You see; Vic is no youngster himself and beyond having COPD and Raynaud's Syndrome (in his hands), he's also been the primary caregiver of his love... Rita for a number of years. He still is. Rita has diabetes. Many, many times Vic has had to care for her ane her legs legs when they ulcer and at this time they’re doing e’thing possible now to waylay dialysis.. She also had dementia that has progressed significantly. Like anyone with COPD; things become more and more challenging...... Several years ago I asked how he could do it all; especially with COPD. His response….. “She would do it for me.” That says it all IMO. He asked for prayers and out of respect I was very cautious as to the info I shared here when I asked Vic if I could post. He gave the O.K. So….. I ask for your healing thoughts, prayers, whatever you believe in, for this wonderful couple and… this very “gentle man.” With love and respect Vic....

My heart goes out to Vic and his family. His letter set such a wonderful tone for a newbie like myself, so I would like to add my prayers to others.

My prayers for Vic and his wife. Do you know, since coming to this forum I have been introduced to some of the most special people on this earth. It seems in the 'real' world in which I inhabit, couples facing the kind of troubles that we do seem to fall apart, but here I have seen so much tenderness and love and devotion that I have a renewed believe in love and couples staying together in the face of adversity.God bless us all!
Vic, you are a true man!

Vic& Rita, your both in my prayers and thoughts.
Sometimes words escape me, the right words, so I will let my heart speak and tell you both I wish you the best on this Journey, Vic your words struck my heart, when you told Jackie "She would do it for me" That says it all, that is real love and devotion.
Love Linndie

Thank you all for the wonderful prayers and sentiments, and especially to Wonder Woman who has made me seem like some sort of saint. I assure you, I definitely have Feet of Clay. Thank you all for Rita, too . . . I'm sure if she could she would thank you herself. -- Vic

Vic, you and Rita are always on my mind. I know it is difficult for you to stay in touch. I so appreciate it when I hear from you. Know that you are both in my prayers. Rita is so blessed that you love her so much to care for her. That is how Joe was with me. These are the times that you truly learn the meaning of love. I cannot find the right words. You are special.
