I got a call from Gwen a short bit ago and I told her I would put something up here in Thoughts & Prayers.

Last night Chris was taken to the ER. Basically he kept passing out. (BP was dropping) It happened at home a few times and there. I believe they will be admitting him.

They "feel" he has some sort of infection so he's currently getting IV ant's and they're running a number of tests. They do not feel the problem is his heart of his lungs.

He's been doing pretty darn good latey so this comes as a surprise; at least to me and probably many of you as well.

I'm sure Gwen will update us, either direct or via a call, when she knows something.

She's just gotten over a bout of something herself so I'm hoping that she doesn't get run down in the process of Chris's current situation.

So; please say a prayer, or send/thing positive healing thoughts for them.

I'm moving this over from another post of Gwen's last night.

Hopefully she get on or update at some point today....

Chris was doing a bit better today and he is now on two IV anti's. They still have not traced the cause but are pretty sure it is some kind of infection "somewhere in his body"!! Apparently this is what sent his BP rocketing down into his boots. Was pretty scarey last night. We were also concerned that his white blood cell count was way up but that seems to be closer to normal today. The kids came up from Victoria this afternoon to check him out for themselves and our son send a video back to his sister in Ottawa of her Mom and Dad smiling. Modern technology is a wonderful thing!!

Thank you all so much for your prayers, good wishes and support. All of us here know how much that means.

Gwen, thanks for the update, I'm glad the IVs are doing a good job. Gotta love the tecno, at least your daughter has a visual.

Hi folks,
Just popping in to say Chris is doing OK. Still not too sure what's going on as he had another "incident" today and they now have him on a 24hour heart monitor as the nurse was saying that ordering a EKG is useless as it is over before they can get the cart up. However, I think this is just precautionary. She said we might as well cover all the bases and I agree. Anyway he was in much better spirits this evening so that is good.We had a good laugh when I held the phone up to our pup ŵho is missing her Dad a lot, she kept cocking her head to one side and then started licking the phone. I guess she figured she was kissing her Dad but she sure looked puzzled!
I am actually more worried about Peter right now. Hope we hear something soon.
Time to take baby out for her last out for the evening and then jammies for me.

thanks for moving Gwen's postings over here. I did see the first one but not the second. It is good to know they are keeping on top of what's happening and hopefully will figure it out soon.

That's so sweet about Olivia and the phone. She must be quite an intelligent girl who obviously loves and misses Chris. She's not alone.

My thanks to you all for your love and get well wishes!

I feel a total fraud at the moment as I feel fine. I still have the heart monitor on, and I am on an IV antibiotic which means that I can't be released until the anti course is finished - should be Tuesday.

They have no very definite cause for the episodes of passing out, but are blaming it on an infection (I had a high white blood cell count when they bought me in).

As I am sure you all know these 'episodes' are really much harder for the caregiver than the patient - I know it has been really hard on Gwen (and Olivia!).

I have been much more worried about Peter, so I was glad Jackie was able to talk to him.

Good to see you Chris! It truly is and I just know you're probably a bit itchy to get home. All in good time. You know; better safe than sorry.
It sure will be interesting to find out what the devil happened....
