This is Sue's daughter. She's had some difficulty breathing the last few weeks and was admitted to the hospital yesterday. They are doing their best to keep her comfortable and will do a CT scan today to see if there's anything going on. She thought she had an infection but nothing showed up on the sputum test.
Please pray for her and if you have any messages or words of encouragement I will pass them along to her.

Thank you Corinne for the update. Give your Mom my love and tell her that she really is in the right place. Ask me, I tried to second guess myself a few weeks ago and did not give in until I could hardly move. I had a collapsed lung that took 12 days in hospital to recover from. Even now, it is very slow going but I am getting there.

I just got a note from Sue's sister (Ellen)
"I just left her and they have said she has a pseudomonas lung infection and will be in the hospital at least until Tuesday. I will try to keep you up-to-date on what is happening. "
I think that explains a lot about what's been going on with Sue lately.... kinda adds up....
Thank you so very much Ellen.... from all of us here....

The hospital where my mom is staying offers you to send ecards to her. I know she would love to hear from her friends so if you have a second, please send her a message through the hospital website: www.wcahospital.org/cardshoppe/index.phpHer full name is Susan Baran. You don't need to worry about a room number, they will get it to her. Thanks, this means alot. She's doing better but has a long road.

I think I shouldn't go away again, but I am so very glad that they have found out what's been troubling you and that they are treating it. I hope your stay in the hospital is pleasant, short and shows you the way back to health. I hope you have lots of company, both in person and in the form of your books. I hope you get lots of rest, and I hope we see you back home very soon, safe and sound.
(Thanks for the updates, Corinne.)

I will share all of your kind messages with Sue tomorrow. She has a positive attitude. Today she made two circuits around the rehab circuit. She is on an IV antibiotic, but doesn't feel much improvement yet. As someone else said, she will go home with a pic line and a motorized wheelchair. She will be in the hospital awhile longer. They will do another catscan in a couple of days. Thanks everyone.

Thanks to all who were able to send ecards to my mom! She had 9 wonderful cards today and they were like rays of sunshine. They found a dark spot on a catscan the other day that the doctor is hoping is mucus and not anything to be worried about. They'll do another in a few days and hopefully she can leave later on in the week.
Ellen and I will keep you all posted. Thanks for all the prayers, hugs and good thoughts. She really appreciates it.

Sue, Hope today was a better day for you and that things are improving. We are all sending positive thoughts out to you and looking forward to your coming home. Just don't let them send you home before you are ready, Know your rights! Last time Chris was in, when I got in to "visit" him he had been discharged. No diagnosis, no meds, no advice. I refused to take him home until I had all of the above. They immediately found him a room and transferred him. Strange, he had been in ER for 3 days with "no rooms available". Reading Peter's "experience" today reminded me that without an "advocate" we are at their mercy and the "system" is not very good at thinking outside of the box!! OK enough soap box for tonight. Love and warm thoughts to you all. Gwen

Get better soon Sue, pray that it is the mucus and nothing more serious. Gwen you are so right about needing an advocate while your in the hosp. btw girlfriend how is your wrist doing?
I sometimes feel so out of touch with everyone, just trying to keep my sanity at times is daunting.
Laurie does not think i should drive any more............ really> I haven;t seen any Limbos or chariots appear at my door. Just have to get in the swing of things and start to go out a bit. I feel like a prisoner sometimes, I'm pretty sure i will die one day on the back patio talking to the birds or squirles one day. If i die some people are getting haunted thats all i'm saying......................
